My favourite part of our 3 day visit of the Angkor region. It was great to visit some of the more remote and founding sites of the Khmer empire, away from the rest of the tourists. Young was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. Riding through the trails on the back of bikes with locals was exhilarating, but didn’t feel dangerous, as they took their time and seemed to know the route very well. I’m very glad we took a guided tour, as it would have been extremely difficult to find our way around the local trails and see such a variety of natural and ancient wonders on our own. Another highlight was visiting an active local temple, where we can see the modern reality of the rich mixture of Buddhist, Hindu and animist religious traditions in Cambodia.
