What To Expect
Australian Butterfly Sanctuary
The largest butterfly flight aviary & exhibit in Australia. Situated next to the Kuranda Markets, it is home to over 1500 tropical butterflies. Wander through the aviary's lush tropical gardens and breeding laboratory to learn more about a butterfly's life cycle & behaviour.
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Glide over and through the canopy of the ancient rainforest and marvel at the spectacular views from Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. There are two stops along this gondola journey where you can alight and explore the rainforest from within.

5.00Travelled to Kuranda via Down Under Tours. Excellent day trip with our older children. Loved both the Skyrail and Train ride. Every aspect of the day was easy. Appreciated the clear communication and tour guide information from the bus drivers on our transport to and from.

3.00A nightmare from start to finish. Chasing info, booking said one thing, after I paid confirmation said something different, rang to confirm we were still going, on hold for ages, said they would send tickets info via text, text arrived. Got to sky rail went to book in, no tickets link. Had to ring again, long wait, resent.The guides were really good, sorted the tickets out.

5.00I loved that this trip was on your own terms & you just had to keep an eye on time so as not to miss the train home. My 5yo & I had a wonderful time. The sky rail & Kuranda rail were very fun & we also paid extra for the Butterfly Sanctuary & Birdworld. Great tour.

2.00The train is extremely overrated, except for a few spots, there is nothing special to see The Skyrail is really nice, anyway the tour is too expensive for what is offered (no food, little time to spend in the village and the forest) I will not recommend it
