Michi san gave my family a wonderful tour of Kyoto. We were in contact leading up to the tour and his suggestions for things my kids (ages 4 and 6) would enjoy as well as my husband and I were perfect. Although it’s incredibly hot and humid in July, we chose to do the Arashiyama Monkey Park, Himeji Castle, and then lunch near Shinkyogoku. My kids have a lot of energy and had no problem, but he did double check that it would be okay given the heat and distance. He had clearly prepared to share the history of Japan from culture to religion to industry. While we could have done an audio tour of the Himeji Castle, it was better hearing it live and being able to ask questions. He also pointed out places to shop for more authentic souvenirs as well as traditional foods to try. It was so helpful to have a local help navigate the transit station, ticket buying, and ordering lunch. He was also so patient given my kids’ needs for snacks, water, and restroom breaks. Michi speaks several languages and has traveled the world. He thoughtfully shared what makes Kyoto so special. I highly recommend booking this tour!
