Slightly disappointed with this tour as we were really looking forward to trying some yummy food. We felt that the tour was focused more on the alcohol than on the food and we are not big drinkers. The Sami tasting was good, but there small plates at each restaurant that we shared with all 7 of us on the tour, including the tour guides. We barely got one piece of everything that was served. Some dishes were delicious but others were far too Japanese authentic. Everyone in our group was from the US and it would have been nice to order us food that they know we would like rather than food they knew we would probably be grossed out by. I mentioned at the beginning of the tour that I was specifically not a fan of sashimi or of eel, yet several of the dishes included both things. We felt a little bit like we were paying for the tour guides to drink and eat and not so much for us to enjoy. Would have preferred that they ask us first before ordering for us which of the items we would prefer. Our tour guides were nice and provided us with a list at the end of the tour of recommended places and foods which was nice.

Leandra was the best foodie tour guide!! She showed us super cool izakayas, explained the history behind Kyoto’s Nishiki market, and took us for the best tempura in the Pontocho district!! Come hungry and leave happy!! Super filling, I wasn’t sure how much food it would be but it turned out to be more than enough! We had excellent sea food, bar snacks we would’ve never ordered on our own, and drank the best sake! Highly recommend booking this tour!!

Leandra was our host for my family of 4. She was outstanding! Her food selections and places were delicious, and fun. She provided great insights into the culture, things to do, and her experience living in Kyoto, being from another country. Choose Leandra!

This was a delightful tour and a chance to try the local Izakaya cuisine. Our guide Leandra led us through the alleys of Osaka to Little hidden gems we would never have found on our own. The food was excellent and included drinks such as local beer and sake as well as soft drinks all included. Highly recommend!
