I booked that 2h tour of Gion district to introduce my parents to Geiko and Maiko culture. Melanie did a great job showing us the main points of interest and explaining the origins of tea houses and kabuki. We really enjoyed seeing Gion at night. It was quiet and dreamy!

Melanie is a really knowledgeable guide! Her tour was a great balance of historical and cultural points and she showed total respect for geisha traditions. The pace was good, the meet up spot was clear and it was an easy walk through crowded areas. It’s a perfect amount of time for this tour. Definitely recommend!

Very nice, educational tour. Ayumi, our guide, has a lot of knowledge, and tell us stories about how and when geisha (geiko) culture started, about teahouses (and why there are named teahouses), maiko training, and much more things.
