We will teach you how to make Michelin-starred ramen and the recipes.
We are a ramen workshop in Kyoto and the only ramen shop we operate. Musoshin Ramen has six stores around the world.
This is the only ramen workshop in Kyoto run by a ramen restaurant, and our classes have many vegetarian and vegan customers.
The ingredients for the ramen you cook are brought from the nearby Musoshin Gion store.
They are the ingredients for ramen made by the chef the day before.
We want people all over the world to eat our ramen. And we want to spread the culture of delicious ramen from here to the world.
With that thought in mind, we created Musoshin Ramen Academy.
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

This class is operated by Musoshin Ramen, located in the Gion area of Kyoto. Musoshin Ramen was founded in Kyoto in 2012 and now operates restaurants in Kyoto and Toronto. Our Toronto location has been nominated for the Michelin Guide for four consecutive years, and we use the same recipe in all of our restaurants. Our mission is to spread delicious ramen all over the world. At Musoshin Ramen restaurant, we make all of our ramen ingredients in-house. We make our noodles every day and let them rest overnight. Our soup is prepared over 12 hours. Our ramen sauce (tare) and chashu pork are also handmade. In this workshop, you will cook your own ramen using the same ingredients as in our restaurant. This is the only ramen workshop in Kyoto connected to an actual ramen restaurant. In this class, you will paint your own ramen Bowl, which will be fired overnight in a special kiln. (Pick up the next day or shipping to your hotel is available for an additional fee.) By boiling and arranging your ramen yourself, you will create a truly special bowl. Enjoy an authentic experience at Musoshin Ramen Academy!

This is a perfect activity for couples, friend groups, or kids/family. Funny and energetic hosts gave great tips for making their signature ramen dish with full recipe provided (but the actual activity is making it with their premade ingredients to save time with kids). It is delicious! The bowl painting activity is really fun to do together, and a nice memory of our trip. Highly recommend.

In this class you paint a ramen bowl and assemble your ramen from disparate parts. You do get to mix the sauce and broth together and cook the noodles. The guides speak passable english. This is a great class for children, but may be a bit too basic for adults with good cooking skills.

This was one of the best experiences we’ve had across both Kyoto and Tokyo! Sherry and Chef Shin were wonderful and made the experience so much fun. They walked us through their ramen making process and gave us some hands experience for making our own! 5 star experience! Truly awesome!

We had a really great time painting our bowls and then making and eating the ramen. Painting our bowls was very relaxing, and the ramen-making was very fun. The ramen we made was so delicious and creamy. Thank you to the staff who were all so friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend this ramen-making experience!

The ramen cooking class was a great time for our family. It’s an absolute must-do in Kyoto. The ramen you make is exceptional and the class itself was fun for both parents and kids. Sherry was wonderful as our cooking instructor. Highly recommended experience.

I honestly could not recommend this experience more highly. Shin is incredibly talented and genuinely makes some of the best ramen in the world. We feel so grateful to have learned from him, he is so knowledgeable, passionate, and fun, and you can really feel how much he loves what he does. Sherry was made for this job and made the class an absolute joy. Her English is amazing (despite her insisting it’s not!), and she brought so much warmth and humour to the experience. I would honestly recommend people come to Kyoto just for this class.

What an excellent experience! My family and I visited Kyoto for the first time and this was the first activity we had planned. We went with the bowl painting, but they offer spoons and aprons as well. The hosts/chefs, Mika and Shin, were a delight; so kind, informative, and took adorable pictures of our group. Finally, most importantly, the ramen that you build together is delicious! Bonus, you get to navigate some lovely small back streets to get to their location.
