Amazing experience and they had beautiful kimonos to choose from. The tea master/host did a very nice job in explaining the process. It was fun and educational.

Highly recommend when in Kyoto! We had an amazing experience and mind you, I’m traveling with a 21yo son and an 18yo daughter- they too had a blast. The Caren team were so warm, welcoming and caring. From the dressing, to the hair, to the taking of photos, to the actual tea ceremony. Beginning to end was superb!

So glad we did this. This could have been very touristy, but it felt very authentic to me. They dressed us in kimono (we got to select the pattern), and did the women's hair. Then we took pictures in a small garden while the other couple in the group got ready. Next, we observed a shortened tea ceremony with a tea master. They took us through each part, we got to ask questions and then try it ourselves. It was a very special experience and I'm so glad we did this!

There were 11 of us and had so much fun learning about the tradition of the tea ceremony. The woman who dressed us were experts and it added to the experience. Highly recommend this tour!

This was a great experience to learn about Japanese tea culture. The hosts were great and very informative. They give information about traditional tea ceremonies and where they divert from tradition to make it more interactive for us. We wear Kimonos including our little one. At the end of the ceremony one person from each group make matcha tea.

This was a good tea experience if a little chaotic. They were in the process of moving to a new space but didn’t tell anyone in advance. I’m sure all of that is worked out now so no need to go into details. The ceremony itself was incredible and very meaningful. My one piece of feedback is to source more variety of kimonos in larger sizes to be more inclusive.

It was a fun and interesting experience. Everyone was friendly and explained each step of the tea ceremony very well. They not only put the kimono on you but they fixed up the women's hair. We looked very nice. We also got to do the ceremony ourselves and serve tea to our companions.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time dressing up in traditional clothing and taking part in the tea ceremony with a tea master. Everything was timed perfectly and handled well, from selecting our kimonos and accessories to making tea. The women in our group were amazed at how quickly and expertly they were dressed and had their hair styled by the staff. We were given ample time in several locations to take numerous photos. We would not only recommend others do this, but we would love to come back the next time we’re in Kyoto!
