This is an absolute must do when in Japan. Firstly, I had no idea how much was involved in the Kimono dressing, but what a treat to be dressed to beautifully- the lovely ladies even do your hair! Then your host will guide you into traditional poses so you are sure to get some great pics of the experience. Finally the actual tea ceremony was really amazing to experience. I would do this again when I get back to Japan! Awesome experience

Wearing kimonos for a tea ceremony was such a unique, fun and memorable time for my traveling group of six women friends plus five fellow women travelers. The tea master answered all our questions and delighted at a rare all-women audience. Not just informational but interactive. Highly recommended activity.

It's a great cultural experience—very enjoyable. The hosts are also very nice. The location is quite distant from Kyoto central, but there is a beautiful Kinkaku-Ji temple you can visit too (about 15-min walk).

I would highly recommend, small group so it felt very intimate. You get to witness a traditional tea ceremony and have a go yourself. The staff and hosts are lovely, very welcoming and you can dress in a full kimono and take pictures throughout.
