As a man, the thought of participating in a tea ceremony was uncertain and cautiously skeptical. I was I quite wrong in my pre-assessment and instead I thoroughly enjoyed it. From the selection and wearing of the haori to the photo shoot and the education and participation of the tea ceremony, I was very impressed. I would highly recommend this tea ceremony to everyone, male and female. Being half Japanese, this experience opened my eyes, heart and mind to the beauty and significance of this ceremony. Some may think it’s “expensive”. It is totally worth the experience! FYI. My personal photo was altered - hair, mustache.

A beautiful and authentic way to experience a traditional tea ceremony. The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive, making the whole experience feel seamless. Dressing up in kimonos added such a special touch—it truly made the moment feel unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Well organised, informative and fun. My son has been studying Japanese language for the last 7 years and rated the experience highly. He even got a turn at being the tea ceremony master (one person from each group booked got to do this). Highly recommend.

It was a beautiful experience. Our hosts were most welcoming and made us feel comfortable. Akira made it fun and you could tell he was proud of his heritage. He was a delight. We enjoyed learning about a small portion of Japanese culture. Our granddaughters were thrilled to dress up. My husband and son also liked it. It was great fun.

It was a very nice ceremony. Pleasant atmosphere, very nice exchange with the Tea Master, good background knowledge that was imparted. The kimonos were really all very high quality and the hair was artfully pinned up.

Enjoying the tea ceremony while in traditional kimonos was such a great experience. We were taught by a tea master and each family got a chance to make traditional matcha while learning about the culture. It was informative and really fun.

Being fired into kimonos and having hair done, etc. made this tea ceremony a great photo op as well as getting a good lesson in tea culture in Kyoto. It was a lovely experience and I'm so glad we chose this out of so many available tea ceremony events.
