We had a great experience with our tandem kayak trip at La Jolla Cove. Our two guides were great. We didn't get to kayak into a cave due to swells, but that was fine. We saw leopard sharks, a green sea turtle, shovel nosed guitarfish, and a seal up close. We could see the sea lions, dolphins, and birds in the distance. Other than the swells by the caves, the water was quite calm and visibility was great. We would do this again and bring some other people. We also appreciated that they had lockers and a bathroom at the meeting place. Everyone that we met at this company was very friendly and helpful.

Great tour. Just long enough because there’s def a decent about of paddling. The guides were great. Plan to get wet so dress accordingly and get a waterproof bag for your phone if you bring it. They sell them so that’s a plus. Lockers are convenient too!

Be sure to check how many kayaks you reserve on the website. I had a bad experience with the reservation process. I accidentally booked 2 tandems for 2 people, instead of one tandem for 2 of us. When I got to the location, the owner "confirmed" that it was for 4 people. I told him that no, it was just the two of us. I didn't realize at the time that I had paid for 2 kayaks (4 people) until later. He didn't tell me that I booked incorrectly either. I left a message a few times to have him call me back to see if i could get a refund, but received no response. It wasn't until I left a negative review that he called me back to say that he didn't understand what my problem was since he claimed they refunded me back the difference at his company's expense. I told him that I wasn't aware of the refund and he got upset and just told me to have a nice day and hung up. It turned out that he DID NOT REFUND the difference to me. I checked with my credit card company and filed a claim, but unfortunately, he won because they have written in their contract to double check the number of kayaks before reserving. I understand it was my fault and I took away business for one more tandem kayak on a busy weekend. But, don't say you refunded me money when in fact, YOU DID NOT PROVIDE A REFUND. That's a lie.

This was a wonderful experience! We’re so glad we picked this tour. Nick and Kyle were awesome! We saw 20+ sharks and a few sea lions. They were very informative and helpful. The water was smoother than expected. Highly recommend!

This is an exciting and beautiful experience. I do suggest for the merchant to include a cold bottle of water for each guest, as it gets hit out there. (At $100 a couple, it's a good idea to treat your guests) Also, please advise all guides to look after all participants, especially on the way back in. All in all, we had a wonderfully time !

Dane was an excellent guide-both knowledgeable about the area and just plain fun. He brought great energy to the group and was obviously very experienced. His stories were hilarious! My daughter and I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend, even if you are new to kayaking.
