That the options for this trip were confusing. When I chose the option without transportation, it was very difficult to go back and add the transportation. No one was able to assist me. Instead I ended up getting my own Transportation via ride share. Which did end up working out ok.

This is not worth for the money we spent. Juan, our guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. Also, we choose wrong time for this trip we should not select in full moon and trip organizer reminded that too, so they were honest.

Our tour guide JR Juan R was amazing outstanding and very knowledgeable I learned so much about Puerto Rico and what to expect when we arrived at the bay. He was with us till we got on the boat. Bioluminescent Bay was the best!! Well worth the trip. Loved the experience to swim. Such an amazing time and again our tour guide made this experience more than expected.

Save your money and your time. My husband and I are adventures and we do a lot of fun and exciting things so we were looking forward to this excursion. We went on December 29th 2025. The pictures you see are nothing like what you will experience. I am under the impression that this area has been so over touristed that the dinoflagellates have all but disappeared (this is the algae/ plankton that make the water glow). We were not expecting to be so astonishingly underwhelmed especially after 3 and 1/2 hour ride one way. When we pulled up to the bay we were very confused as there was no way we were in the lit up bay shown in the pictures. There were absolutely no lights in the water. The captain said you have to agitate the water for the light (We were on a motorboat ...how much more water agitation can you get) . They build the suspense by saying there are only 5 bioluminescent bays in the world, 3 of them are in Puerto Rico, and this is the only bay you can swim in... You get exactly 20 minutes in the water and they Make sure of that. (10 minute warning... 5 minute warning ...4 minute warning etc. ). We swam in the water and if you kick your legs as hard as you can you will see some light, however, in my personal opinion you would experience more light by taking a waterproof flashlight to your nearest body of water at night and wave it around while swimming.

The tour operators reminded us of our reservation, gave us the exact meeting point & their staff were very friendly. Will recommend them to our friends! Unfortunately, we couldn’t plan our trip on new moon day so the bright moon made it little hard to see the bioluminescence until we figured we could see it in the shadow of the boat, so overall it was a wonderful experience. Swimming at night in open waters under the sky was very relaxing.

We were limited by a full moon and unable to change our date although that was offered to us. The captain was able to position the boat so that the shade gave us a pocket of clarity. Waving our hands under the water we could see glitter streaming in all directions. It was helpful to have good goggles. Definitely recommend.

This was a very well organized tour. I really appreciated the company’s communication minutes after me booking the tour ( 2 months in adavance). Our tour guide JR was excellent. Very nice and professional. His communication was excellent the day of tour on pick up time and location. Shuttle ride was very comfortable. The boat ride was great as well. Visibility was not good at the bay the day we went bc there was “too much moon” That was a bummer, but no one’s fault. The captain was so nice and captured a picture of “the glow” for me from the boat when he saw I was struggling. Book close to a new moon for the best visibility.

This experience ended up feeling like a waste of a vacation day. Between driving and the tour itself, we spent about eight hours total and unfortunately saw nothing in the bioluminescent bay. I understand nature isn’t guaranteed, but in conditions like this, I would have strongly preferred the tour be canceled rather than running knowing visibility was poor. The staff was polite, but the overall vibe felt low-energy and unenthusiastic, which didn’t help given the circumstances. This is a significant time commitment, and losing a full day of vacation for no visible experience was frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend this unless conditions are clearly ideal.
