During the one-hour free guided tour, I got a truly great overall impression of this farm. Somehow, while being here, you almost forget that you are in Cambodia. Everything is very well organized, extremely clean, and professionally run. The tour guide did an excellent job explaining every detail and was able to answer all questions clearly and thoroughly. Of course, as it is a farm, the products are also for sale — and they are beautifully presented in a spacious, airy shop. You can even taste the different pepper varieties beforehand, which is a great experience. A personal highlight for me was the delicious tea — full of flavor and very memorable. All in all, this farm is highly recommended and definitely worth a visit.

today I was at La Plantation which is a Organic Peppert Farm mainly but does also specialise in other organic freshly grown produce it is a beautiful place the pepper is grown with geometric presicion and the journey from cutting to early growth and to fruit and then plate is astonishing I have never done the full tour at this particular farm but one of my London business partners who is also a criminal barrister has been staying at my villa for a few weeks and I thought it would be a marvellous outing for us to do, well it surpassed my expectations and then some the lemon grass the hibiscus the Mango the long pepper the colours the smells the tastes truly delightful. I hope one day you can go on this adventure you travel down winding roads through rural Southeast Asia the sun flew high in the sky, proud and naked not one cloud could hide the heat, brilliant yellows and oranges bleed out golden hues paint the endless sky, My maroon Honda moped trundles along pass the secret lake the sun kisses my skin I feel free the wind it cools my skin, no helmet and flip flops God I love this country over a railway track its age can be shown no power lines above just the metal track not rusted or dilapidated the shiny metal tells a story of a romantic steam train hurtling down to the beaches of Kep pass the secret lake and the rice paddies the monasteries and water buffalo the ashalt road continues off onto the distance before becoming lost after the horizon the road to the left is the Pepper road, dusty and pot holed the bikes wheels flick up orangery dust as we carefully head to La Plantation.

Theoretically, you can freely choose a plantation tour from the three options on offer - a short free tour or one of two longer payment tours each. Since my time was short, I decided to take a short free tour. Nevertheless, the guy on the laptop at the reception immediately told me that I would hardly really experience anything during such a short tour; I should also "look behind the scenes", so book a payment tour after all. When I thankfully declined the recommendation, I was assured that the next free tour would not start for 1.5 hours, but the upcoming payment tour could be done in 10 minutes. Such an aggressive sales tactic led me to conclude that the pressure would only increase once I was taken to the in-house store. That's why I rejected the idea of visiting the plantation.

We were keen to visit a pepper plantation whilst staying in Kep and so we got a tuk tuk to La Plantation. It was a wonderful experience. The tour was thorough and informative and incredible to learn about the different types of pepper and all the spices. It’s the most beautiful setting with a great restaurant (fabulous food) and a lovely cafe serving great coffee and juices with a view out across the plantation. The tour ended with a tasting session of all the different products the plantation makes. Just fabulous. Our teenage children loved it too and I now have a new respect for the pepper and spices I cook with and the work that goes into their production. Only regret is that we didn’t stay longer and do a cooking class. You could easily spend a full day here; it’s a wonderful place.

Unmissable place. The site is superb with gardens, buildings (old and modern for the bar), plantations. The guided tour and tasting that follows are free. Beautiful immersion in the culture of Kampot pepper, Java and different spices. The shop is also essential. The high bar offers superb views of the plantations and the lake in the distance. The restaurant, with dishes, of course, around pepper is great, the dishes succulent, even the chocolate ice cream pepper is very good. The staff for tours, Welcoming, Bar, Shop and Restaurant are very smiling and helpful. We highly recommend this tour, which can be done either from Kep or Kampot.

La Plantation offers great insight to pepper plantations and production. Join a guided tour of the plantation to learn all about this special spice. See the fruit in various stages of maturation and understand how the crops are harvested. After walking through acres of plants and past beautiful botanic gardens, it is then time for tastings to learn about the characteristics of the variants. A different guide will host the tasting experience, which is both interesting and informative. Following the activity, visitors are free to wander around the retail area, enjoy drinks and snacks in the elevated café or explore the grounds some more. I found the operation to be well organised, engaging and professionally run. Plus, I learned a couple of things I never knew about pepper! Highly recommended.

Great guided tour of the pepper plantations in English or French. Afterwards a tasting of pepper and spices which can be bought locally in the shop. Very informative guided tour with friendly staff and free of charge. If you are in the area of Kampot you should definitely make this trip.

A great experience to have been there where the pepper grows. It was great explained how the pepper is harvested and processed. The plantation has a great social commitment to its employees and the local environment. Tasting at the end of the tour was very good to find the right pepper or other spices for yourself.
