3.00The tour was actually pretty well organized. Once you get off the ship, you need to take a free shuttle to get to the cruise terminal. And when you get off the shuttle, you'll need to locate the tour guides in green tshirts. There are a few of them with clipboards, and you'll have to check-in with them to get into the right tour group. Now, this tour itself covers a lot of ground, and it's literally a full day, with the most of it on the road. First stop was Florence, the walking tour was about 1 hour, and then free time another 1.5 hrs. And that includes time for lunch, shopping and whatnot. You'll also need to allot at least 20 mins of walking time to head back to the bus. It's pretty far. Then next it's Pisa, where you'll be given 1 hour of free time to take pictures and climb the tower for those who have tickets. Again, you'll need to allot 15 mins to get back to the bus. Aside from one trip to the restroom (WC) at the very beginning of the tour, no other restroom break is given. So you'll need to make time to go to the restroom on your own during your allotted free time. It may not sound that bad right now, but during high season with a million other tourists in line to use the restrooms, it really eats up your time. And you really can't see much even if you didn't go to the restroom with so little time and so much to cover. My advice is to avoid any sit down restaurants that takes up a lot of time for lunch, and just grab something simple and quick to make the most of it. Take pictures quickly and move on to the next if you really want to see more. There's simply no time to soak up anything. The tour guide kept a very tight schedule, and wasn't very accommodating to any requests. She gave most of the information about the sights on the bus, and during the walking tour she just walked us to the sight, and gave us 10 mins to take pictures. She was very matter of fact, and wasn't particularly engaging or friendly. Overall, the tour is okay if your goal is just to get to the attraction sights and take some pictures. The lower your expectations, the better it'll be.
