We have brought fun and excitement and mixed it in with the beauty and cultural experiences the lake has to offer. We depart from our office in Panajachel and head over to the colorful village of Santa Catarina Palopo. In this village we are able to see and learn about local weavings, blankets, nahuales and other goods made and sold by the locals. At the plaza of this village, we visit a local coffee house where you can grind your own coffee and taste the locally grown beans. Once finished in Santa Catarina we hop back on our ATVs to the village of San Antonio Palopo. We visit local ceramic factory where we learn about the process to make all these incredible goods. You are unable to book a reservation only with a passenger rate; you must have a driver rate as well.
Youth with drivers license can drive their own ATV but have to book as an adult
What To Expect
San Antonio Palopo
We visit a local Ceramic factory to learn about the process and see how it is made. we also visit the local Chocolate factory, the dock and shops by the water
Santa Catarina Palopo
During this stop we are able to learn and see local weavings, clothing, blankets, and many of the local goods made at this village. We also visit the local cultural center where we can taste some local coffee and chocolate, and lastly head over to the dock where we can do some shopping or grab a snack and drinks at the waterfront restaurant.

5.00A very beautiful tour through the towns of San Antonio and Catarina Palopo; I had never been there, and they are very lovely. The entire journey was very peaceful, feeling the adrenaline of the ATVs, a very nice experience while learning and appreciating each of the workers in textiles, ceramics, and chocolate making. Each process involved is very interesting and impactful to know how the Mayan ancestors had such wisdom to discover how to create them. The guide was very kind, although I do not remember his name, he was always attentive to us. A very nice experience, and next time we will surely visit with more friends; we were delighted.

5.00This was a great way to see the east side of the lake and the cultural significance of chocolate, ceramics, coffee, and weaving from the traditional Mayan cultures. It was also cool seeing the more local villages but my favorite part on the ATV villages tour was just driving through the hills and the scenic landscapes of the lake. Our tour guide sabastien was spectacular he took a lot of great photos and videos of me and my girlfriend and we actually got a private tour with just him. He was very accommodating and let us take our time at different spots as well as educated us on everything on the tour.

5.00This was an amazing experience! So fun, engaging, and thrilling. Not only did we ride the ATVs, we also learned about the culture, participated in tasting and interacted with the other travelers. Nemi, our guide was exceptional!!

5.00Our group was small and no one was in a hurry so we had a leisurely time and did fun things and even went swimming, and learned so many astounding facts about the area at the stops! Even my phone-addicted teenager liked it. The ATVs are fun to drive, but be careful. Our guide was very personable and a good guy. 5/5 overall

5.00We had an amazing experience with Simoon Tours! From the very beginning, Iva was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. She made the entire booking process easy and was always willing to answer our questions. Our guide, Sebas, was absolutely wonderful. He was patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire tour. Since we were the only reservation for the day, the tour became a private experience, which made it even more special. Sebas took his time, shared information about the area, helped us with photos, and made sure my 9-year-old son enjoyed every moment. The ATV tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Guatemala. The views were spectacular, and the service exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Iva and Sebas, for making this such a memorable experience. We highly recommend Simoon Tours to anyone visiting Guatemala!
