What To Expect
Hanoi
To offer a more unique experience with a sense of tranquility and unspoiled nature, the journey begins at Beo Pier, the furthest tourist pier on the island. As a result, the transfer from Hanoi takes around 3.5 hours, including several steps: a bus from Hanoi to Got Pier, a short high-speed ferry to the island, and a final transfer by bus to the pier. 7:00 – 7:30 Get picked up in your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or our office – No. 106 Tran Nhat Duat, then travel via the 5B expressway to Hai Phong, stopping briefly at V52 in Gia Loc. In Hai Phong, take the sea-crossing road from Tan Vu to Lach Huyen port, enjoying scenic views of Dinh Vu port. Travel to Cai Vieng from Got Pier or Dong Bai Pier.

Great Day Tour to Lan Ha Bay

5.00We had a great day tour from Hanoi, the kayaking & swim in the bay was the best among them. Cycling in the National Park (no animals , just a protected area) was a fun experience amidst the nature. In the limited time, you can choose one of cycling or a fish spa. Vegan options were limited but good. Levi as the host assisted everyone well from start to end. We initially planned for the Boutique Cruise but it was sold out for Monday when we checked the previous night evening, and chose Grandeur. Our friends had recommended Lan Ha Bay to be a better option since Ha Long Bay is overcrowded. And it was a great decision.

5.00I was picked up early in the morning. After a long bus drive, then boat, then another bus, boat, finally we reached the main boat. Our guide Binh/Billy was very knowledgeable and funny, and spoke good English. He gave us history and geography lectures, and provided all the information necessary. Lan Ha Bay is beautiful, and not many people and boats are around since it is narrower than Ha Long Bay. That is, no huge cruise ships. Lunch buffet was good, kayaking and swimming was fun. I wish we had a little more time for swimming. We also saw the filming location of the Kong: Skull Island, and biked in the field.

5.00I went in the 2 day/1 night Cat Ba island and Lan Ha Bay cruise. The first day involved hiking in Cat Ba National Park and visiting the Bat caves, and Hospital cave (a hospital bunker during the Vietnam war - fascinating!), all of which I would recommend. The Lan Ha bay cruise on Day 2 was an absolute highlight, with great photos to be taken from the cruise ship, on the rowing boats going through caves, and then kayaking through the bay and swimming/resting at a beach, and towels provided. Furthermore, the bay was quiet with only a few boats, unlike Halong Bay which looked absolutely packed! I chose the all inclusive package, which included lunch dinner, hotel breakfast and then lunch and tea on day. The food served on the cruise was fantastic, and the hotel that was booked exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and spoke English which was handy for the majority of attendants. I would recommend the Cat Ba Express, the bus and ship were good quality both inside and out, clean and well maintained, and as was the speedboat that transferred us from the mainland to Cat Ba Island.
