    • Great food variety that you wouldn't find without a guide

This tour was a great way to visit some off-the-grid local eateries nearby the People's Square / West Nanjing Road area that I would have never found without a tour guide. The tour starting point was easy to find. Our guide Luo Ding was very fluent in English and very informative about the history of the area and the food culture of all the places we visited. The stops included noodles, soup, dumplings, barbeque, and dessert all of which were very different than what you'll find at the hotels and restaurants a non-Chinese traveler will typically visit in Shanghai.

This was our first night in China and it was the perfect introduction for my young teen sons to Shanghai. We walked a fair bit, ate delicious and surprising food in pretty large quantities, shared a beer. It was all very civilized with a terrific history lesson and architectural tour as well. We enjoyed the company as much as the sights and flavors.

    • I recommend this tour

Jade was a super enthusiastic tour guide with excellent English skills. I would recommend this tour as it included a good introduction to local Chinese food and some tasty beer choices as well. The dumplings were the BEST ever!!
