We visited the Lava Show in Vik in February 2026. It was a quiet day in the small venue and with just two rows of seats everyone has a perfect view of the show. The host, with typical Icelandic humour, shared the history of the show and lots of knowledge about Iceland, its Volcanos, and ultimately the lava which was flowing so close to us. It was an amazing experience and a must do when visiting Iceland. Tip: combine the visit with lunch or dinner at the Soup Company located in the same building as the Lava Show!

Brilliant show! It was so interesting to learn about lava, to see it up close and to learn all about the volcanoes in the country. We got to learn all about the history of the volcanoes and glaciers and even about one of the founders Grandfather who survived one of the eruptions! It was a small group of us which I really loved as it felt intimate and meant we got to ask more questions and really interact with the show. I totally recommend if you are heading towards Vík on your trip! It is a must see! Oh- and the tickets are very reasonable and there is a lovely little cafe too!

Really fun and interesting show - Luis was a great presenter and clearly knowledgeable in his field. The actual lava flow was super cool but he also taught us a lot about how volcanoes work and Icelandic glacial stuff in general. Highly recommended. We added the backstage thing which was also super worth it. The Vik show is smaller than the one in Reykjavik - maybe 20 people or so - which I thought was good - felt intimate.

Incredible host Lava was very cool but above all the show was incredibly informative and brought the reality of Iceland to life.

This venue is set a little out of town, but it has easy access to buses. We went to the evening show. Once you enter the main area, your tickets are checked and you’re given protective glasses. There’s also a small shop and a place to buy drinks while you wait. You’re then brought into the theatre, where you’ll be seated quite close to the lava flow. Neil, by far, made the show both highly informative and genuinely entertaining. If you have any questions, he does his best to answer them, so it’s worth thinking ahead about anything you’re unsure of. Most of the seating is very good, with the exception of two seats at the end — and to be fair, these had been blocked off. There are toilets in the main booking area.

The guide was very informative and fun to listen. We watched real lava flow and things that could be done with it. Got a little bit of Vik history.

I booked at the last minute as I wasn't sure what time I would make it to town and I am glad I did. What a unique experience being so close to flowing lava and learning about Iceland's volcanos. Our guide, Luis, explained everything in an engaging and fun way. Luis also made sure to answer any questions before, during, and after the show.
