This is a fun, informative demo which is great for all ages. It’s randomly in the same building as a soup restaurant (which smelled amazing!). Our host Andrew (not his real name but he told us to use it for ease) did a great job. Especially as there was a screaming toddler whose selfish family decided not to leave the room with him and made us all endure it for the duration… he kept his cool and did so well.

It was a great experience to see and get more information about the lava and the impact in Iceland. Good to see it in real time

So informative, fun and dynamic show! I learned a lot about sub glacier volcanoes versus above glacier and have great respect for the « emergency » procedure in case of an eruption below Katla

This was an absolutely amazing experience, Luis was amazing and explained everything to us in detail but still with humor and we had a lot of fun.

Hesitant to go to what I thought was a tourist trap. But no, Luis was an excellent host. We learned a lot lava, Iceland, Kayla, etc. The show with the lava was impressive. Later we had a chance to chat with Luis about Iceland. We will be back! Thank you Luis!

We really recommend this show, altough one of the most important tips is to not go with a lot of thermal layers or jackets and hats because once the lava starts flowing it get really hot in there. All in all its really fun and very informative about volcanos, emergency procedures, etc, the host was really funny and explained everything with detail but in a non scientific way so you could understand everything well

We both enjoyed learning about Katla especially before heading to the ice caves the next day. It was a great introduction to Vik and Iceland’s history and relationship with the natural forces of ice and fire. I also was impressed by the heat and the lava play. Definitely wear layers because it can get toasty.

Lava show in Vik (guided by Luis) introduced us to volcano science and Katla geopark. It was a nice way to learn a little about the area and its relationship/history with the volcano. We were going to explore the Katla geopark/glacier the following day, so the show gave me more appreciation for the landscape, the history, and the residents. Plus it was nice to sit back, share a beer during the show and remove some layers due to the rising heat of the room. (And the soup next door is pretty tasty too).
