What To Expect
The Open Water Diver course is the first step and results in a license that lets you dive anywhere in the world, to a maximum depth of 18 meters, with another certified diver. This is the course that will literally open a door to a whole new world! The course normally takes 3 days to complete and we start courses every day. We limit the size of our groups to a maximum of 4 students per instructor. More often than not, our groups are even smaller, on average 2 students per instructor. In addition to having more time to practice and receiving more attention from your instructor, we keep our groups small for your safety, which is our top priority here when teaching you how to dive. The entire team was helpful, friendly, and genuinely caring, making us feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. A special shout-out to Nicole, who taught my son and wife with such patience and clarity, and to Rish, who guided me through the process with professionalism and warmth. Both instructors went above and beyond—nothing was ever too much trouble. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly, ensuring we felt safe and prepared. Thanks to their dedication, we successfully achieved our Open Water Certification, and then dove into even more adventures with Rish. Words can’t express how much we appreciated the combination of expertise and friendliness that made this experience so memorable. If you’re considering diving in Koh Lipe, look no further—this team is simply the best. Thank you for making our trip unforgettable!

5.00My experience of the PADI Open Water with Ko Lipe Diving School was excellent. They were prompt and responsive via email. The instructor, Kailey, is a consummate professional. She is an exceptional teacher with extensive knowledge and excellent communication skills. With her guidance, I was able to develop and refine the necessary skills required for the certification. She also provided troubleshooting for issues that arose during the closed and open water dives.
Everything was as it should be, from answering the mails before the trip to the completion of the course

5.00Very friendly and helpful staff, no pressure to book ahead or book extra dives, generouse management, clean and well maintained equipment, good food. Small classes, we received an instructer that was very eligible for our son, safety was a primar concerne for the school, transparent information, convenient location of the two shops. This was my 5th dive holiday and I can recommend this school to everyone.

5.00The team at the school was amazing. Not only did they do some great refresher training for my wife and I but also got my 10 year old through his Junior Open Water certification. The patience and care they took in addressing our sons understandable concerns and countless questions was amazing. We can’t say enough good things about this team and the school. Well done and thank you for showing our boy how amazing diving can be.

5.00It was such a great experience with Koh Lipe Diving School. I've chosen them for my Open Water course and after this - for Advanced OW. I had 10 dives in total. My instructor Addie was brilliant, the whole team is very professional and passionate about what they are doing. They own two best diving shops on the island with this special fantastic diving vibe everywhere. The diving boat is big and comfortable, diving sights are so different and beautiful! I was newbie and felt myself safe and relaxed all the way. Koh lipe diving school was definitely the right choice and I highly recommend it to everyone! PS: Addie, Michael, Joseph, Louis, Emily, David, Bridget, Adam, Elizabeth (i hope i didn't mistake with names 😊) and all the others, thank you so much for this great experience!

5.00If you’re thinking about diving on Ko Lipe, there’s only one team to go with. These guys are the real deal. Super professional set up, brilliant instructors and safety the priority. My partner and I had never dived before, we did the Open Water, loved it so much we ended up doing our advanced certification a few weeks later. Throughout both courses we had an instructor to ourselves. The instructors David & Michael have been diving on Ko Lipe for years and are the absolute best. They’re pros in the water and clowns at the bar. In all seriousness, they truly know their stuff, were awesome teachers, we felt very safe, they know the dive sites like the back of their hand, were amazing at finding all sorts of cool marine life for us to see and made our experience too much fun. As did everyone we met in the team - all wonderful human beings. We came for the diving and left Lipe feeling part of their family. No matter your level of experience this lot will give you the best time. And like us, you won’t ever want to leave the island.
