It was a wonderful few hours learning about Lexington’s art scene. We saw a lot of wonderful art work and because it was an open studio weekend we were able to see art by local artists

I had an absolutely wonderful day exploring the downtown area of Lexington and the art pieces sprinkled throughout. I learned so much and honestly felt like I had gotten a perfect overview of the area. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a couple of hours to spare. You will come away with a with a true appreciation for the art as well as the city which houses it.

This was a different take on Lexington apart from the horses and bourbon that is so prevalent in most of the offered tours. Our guide, Kate Savage, is a long time Lexington resident and supporter of the arts scene here. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about the art and artists, she can tell you the backstory and politics surrounding each highlighted work because she was there when it happened. If you enjoy art, this tour is a must!

Lexington has so much art to enjoy, and our guide helped us find so much of it! He shared a bit of the city’s history also, and I learned about a couple of Lexington’s authors as well. Great tour! Parking is a problem downtown. Meters only let you pay for two hours, and that doesn’t give enough time!

The rain was pouring down. I had a rain poncho, but the guide didn't have a rain jacket, hood or umbrella. But he was a champ! He carried on the tour is if it were a bright sunny day! He was not only knowledgeable about the art, he knew some of the artists personally, so he was able to give insights into their work and creative processes that you can't get by simply looking at the artwork in a gallery or reading a plaque in front of a public work of art. It was an excellent tour! If you're an art lover, I would highly recommend this tour.

The tour leader was very friendly, but had an inadequate knowledge of architecture. The tour was to be Art and Architecture...but really was a bunch of stops at art galleries.
