Copenhagen is much more than Tivoli, The Little Mermaid, and fancy restaurants.
Join our walking tour and gain insight into a life of drug abuse, homelessness, crime, and much more. Our guides have their own unique life stories, where they openly share about a life on the streets of Copenhagen that few are familiar with.
The tour lasts 1.5 hours and includes 6 stops along the way.
Our guide, Philip, will take you for a very personal walk downtown Copenhagen two times a month.
Read more about Philip below.
Philip
Sharing my story of a life marked by drug abuse and gambling addiction, homelessness, crime, and prostitution. Reflecting on feeling different and wrong, questioning my sexuality. Lost the joy for life, harmed myself and others. Misled workplaces and close ones. Guilt and shame became ingrained in my DNA.
Today, Philip finds himself in a positive stage of his life, having moved on from his past and now actively engaged in pursuing an education.

I had a great experience with Christian and my group in an exchange program. Althoug his story is very hard and sad, he could learn and share with us his life in a very interesting way. He is an amazing storyteller and made me feel comfortable to make questions while he was explaining his journey. It was an unforgetable afternoon.

I give my best recommendations to Street Voices and guide Philip. This is the 2nd time I'm on a city walk with Street's Voices and both times have touched me deeply. Philips’ story is truly thought-provoking and shows that drug abuse, homelessness and crime can affect everyone. City walking with Philip should be mandatory for all young people. It is so thoughtful and educational how much a single bad decision can mean for the path one’s life goes. But also that it is possible to rise again, even if you are in the deepest, black hole. Philip tells his story with skinless honesty and also shares the sides of himself he is least proud of. So thank you to Philip for sharing even the darkest side of his story! Philip is a good mediator, he is reflective and gladly answered all our questions.

We were on a city walk with Philip, who told vividly and honestly about the choices and events that had helped shape his fate. He was well formulated and reflected and really gave the students we had on the trip something to think about. At the same time with the sad and terrifying story, he put great emphasis on telling how important it is to reach out for help. There was hope in the middle of all that sad. Great Recommendation from here.

Wild, wild story. Excursion with my students. A very absorbing story. The tour worked really well with walking and stopping and narration.

We went on a trip with Philip in Indre by, and it was a fantastic touching story and a super good experience. Philip was a super good storyteller and was open to all questions about the life he had lived over many years. 1½ hours were booked, but we ended up with a 2 hour walk, story & talk. Can definitely be recommended.

Thank you Philip for a very thorough insight into your whole life, both from a happy childhood to a life completely on the edge. Really hope you are on the right track.

Love the concept behind Street Voices. Truly a city walk that moves and gives food for thought for several days afterwards. Our guide Philip was brutally honest, answered all our questions and what a story he had to tell. This is another side of Copenhagen, it takes place in the present, right before our eyes and the destinies are harsh, and at the same time life-affirming. Highly recommend this trip!
