Then, continue to Postojna Cave. Ride a mini-train deep into the famous cave and tour the ethereal network of stalactites, stalagmites and caverns with a local guide. Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest Karst monuments and it is a must-see attraction when visiting Slovenia. You will start the tour with a unique and adventurous ride with a special train in one of the most diverse cave systems in the world, with 21 km of passages, galleries and magnificent halls, which offer an unparalleled experience of the underground world and a large diversity of underground animals – including the world-famous human fish (proteus anguinus). Beside Postojna Cave you will also have the chance to visit Predjama Castle. Our guide will show you this magnificent medieval castle perched high up in a vertical cliff in the idyllic village of Predjama. It is an interesting and romantic sight throughout the year: in the spring and summer its surroundings are abundant with blossoms and flowers, in the autumn it is clad in the colours of surrounding forests and it is at its most enchanting in the winter when the surrounding area is covered in snow.

4.00It is a very interesting cave, the largest in Europe. Part of the visit is carried out with a train, followed by a pleasant walk. Beautiful rooms, the magnificence of nature. In the surroundings you can make a pleasant stop to eat.

5.00We liked this tour company (Slovenia-Explorer) so much that we did two tours with them. First, Predjama Castle plus Postojna Caverns (one tour) and, second, a tour to Lake Bled (including the castle). They do offer a tour that would hit all three destinations in one day, but that would make for a rather long day. On both tours, the destinations were great. The caverns were probably our favorite, because they were a bit more unique. The drivers on both days were fantastic (we particularly remember Jan, who had the advantage of having studied history in college) and we got a great mix of local color, ancient history, history from the Yugoslavia era to the present, and humor. The vans were clean and modern and the communication was clear and timely, which made everything simple and easy. The drives are also not too long—about 45 minutes each way. Great tours and a great tour company!

5.00This far exceeded our expectations. Although this wasn't a private tour, this van was comfortable and our guide was knowledgeable and personable. It seemed like a private tour and we made quick friends of the other people. The cave and particularly the train was much more fun and impressive than I would have imagined. The castle was also really unique given the setting into the mountain. I would highly recommend this tour.
