We booked the Kaikora bay and seal colony llama trekking this week. What a wonderful tour. Kevin makes sure you are well informed about the llamas and how they behave. Lots of stops to tell you more stuff and let the llama get to know you. By the end, the llama likes to test you, just like naughty children. I highly recommend this tour for all animal lovers and people looking to do unique things in Kaikora.

The best experience of our holiday. The lamas are beautiful gentle intelligent animals. We have been whale watching - great, had crayfish - yummy. But the lama trek was special!! Kevin was great, informative & interesting. He stopped often so the lamas could "snack" and we could take the time to enjoy being with our lama and the amazing scenery. A bond seemed to develop between Pegusus and I as we relaxed and meandered around the shoreline. Easily the best experience I have had for a long time.

We really enjoyed our Llama trek with Kevin and of course the two beautiful Llamas, Harry and Alfie! Kevin helped us understand how the Llamas perceive the environment around them, and why they might appear unsettled at times. The llamas were really easy to walk with and very gentle. He also spoke to us about the local area and his life in New Zealand. He rents out accommodation under the name ‘Wacky Stays’ which sounds really quirky plus you are surrounded by animals….heaven for me. Anyway the Llama trek which ended with a coffee and cake stop and then a lift back to our camp was perfect. So nice to do something different, so just book it!

The half day Llama trek along the coastline was an unforgettable experience. Walking beside these gentle, curious animals while taking in sweeping ocean views made for a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Kevin was incredibly mindful and generous with his knowledge, sharing fascinating insights about llamas, their behaviour, and how to handle them with care and respect. His calm approach really helped us connect with these lovely, cautious animals. The pace of the walk was just right, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and ask questions. Finishing with tea and cake in a beautiful setting was a wonderful and thoughtful bonus. This was much more than just a walk and capped a great day.

Must do whilst in Kaikōura! Beautiful experience trekking with the llamas along the stunning coastline. Kevin is so knowledgeable and passionate about llama behaviour as well as local Kaikōura history. My daughter and I I enjoyed this half-day activity so much. Thanks again, Kevin!

Great walk. Learnt so much from Kevin and new appreciation of the behaviours of llamas and how they act. I've also learnt that it is the alpacas stirring the viscous robot about llamas and spitting. These llamas Harry and Archie were great companions. Scenery was stunning with a beautiful day.

Our family of four had such a great time on our llama trek! With two young kids it’s often difficult to get them both focused on a prolonged walk or hike. This was a perfect way to engage and keep them focused while exploring a beautiful new place. If you are in Kaikoura this is a must do!!
