We will Meet at the heart of the medina (ancient city of Marrakech), then we will explore the streets and spots where locals eat . You will have a break from the "Couscous" and the "Tagines" that are offered in every touristic spot.
We will start with some Moroccan soup called Harira (only available in the evening tour) and some pancakes. Followed by what we call "Maqla with kefta", it is tomato sauce based with eggs and meatballs (vegetarian version is available).
After that we can try some small portion of a steamed sheep head (also only available in the evening tour), and then have some skewers. We will then end it with dessert which would be typically a smoothie and some Moroccan pastries.
PS: Those are the basic stops but there are usually couple more, and more stops could be added depending on your liking, and on availability.
Optional Stop: You can discover more about how Moroccans use local spices and herbs in daily life, an authentic moment to ask questions to the experts.

Smail tailored a food tour that truly gave us a glimpse into various foods typical of a Moroccan's daily meals. He started us out with a traditional soup, date and flatbread that was delicious. Then onto olives and Kefta Mkaouara with bread, Moroccan donuts, some exotic dishes that included sheep head and snail soup. Next a smoothie stop and pastries to a special tea with menthol flakes. Smile was knowledgeable and hospitable and took us to places that the locals frequented. Highly recommend.

Our group had a wonderful experience sampling lots of different local foods and drinks with Smail. He was so kind and amenable and let us try anything that we wanted to try during the tour, including some tasty snails at the end! We stopped at so many hidden places that we never would have found or have been comfortable enough to navigate on our own. Smail had lots of interesting information and was open to answering our endless questions regarding the local culture. Our minds and bellies were full and satisfied by the end of our tour. Do not hesitate to book with Smail, his tour was one of the best food tour values we have ever had!

We had an amazing tour with Smail. He took us to hidden local spots we would never have discovered on our own. We got to taste typical Moroccan dishes, and he made sure there was plenty for everyone while taking dietary requirements and allergies into account. He answered all our questions and shared great insights about local customs. Overall, it was a wonderful way to experience Moroccan culture through its cuisine.

Smail is a nice guy who shows you the best places from the centre of the medina. Some nice unique places and I was stuffed at the end, recommended!

Really great food tour. You will visit places with no name and no menu and try things you otherwise would not have found
