The tour includes a stop at one of London's oldest pubs, with a fire to warm you as you find a cosy corner and perhaps enjoy a mulled wine. Charles himself was known to be a regular, as was the notorious Hellfire Club.

On our journey towards the locations featured in A Christmas Carol we will take in some other Dickens sights. Let's explore the area where Dicken's worked as a junior Clerk. From the mysterious Inns of Court he took inspiration that would later find it's way in to David Copperfield, Great Expectations, and Martin Chuzzlewit.
A Tavern with Cellars dating to the 13th Century. This Pub was a haunt of Dickens and a meeting place for the Hellfire Club. David Copperfield drinks here in the Novel of the same name. Shall we rest by the fire and warm up with some Mulled Wine?

5.00Amazing tour and Richard was phenomenal in his storytelling. Taking the time to set the table and bring everything together was simply wonderful. He took us to different places that we would have never known or seen on our own. You don’t have to be a fan of Dickens to appreciate this tour. I am a fan, especially of A Christmas Carol. What even made it better was Richard talked about certain aspects of the story and showed how each place chosen for the tour was unique. It was almost like a treasure hunt! I’ve taken walking tours before, but this one was the best! Take the tour, learn about the history and culture behind the stories. SO MUCH FUN! Richard I do hope you will be on YouTube! Oh, one more thing…he showed a bonus site for the series Slow Horses! We love that show!

5.00This was my second time to take this tour, so obviously I enjoyed it! My family loves the Christmas Carol, so I had to bring my kids (ages 17, 14, 10, and 7) on the tour to see all the sites that inspired Charles Dickens. They all enjoyed the tour and my husband said it was his favorite tour of the trip. Richard is very knowledgeable and leads a great tour. We hope to get back to London and do his Ted Lasso tour next time.
