This was a fantastic tour company. My guide was Tammy she was absolutely fabulous. We had a small group About 8 of us total. And we saw Edoras - I know all of the sets are gone but you are Here and just struck by the beauty of it all. It’s vast. Stunning countryside the mountains in the distance. Even the sheep are cute.

I’ve been waiting a long time to do this tour - originally booked in 2021 but had to cancel due to NZ government COVID border closures. But it was worth the wait, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to finally embark on this adventure with Tammy, our fabulous guide, and fellow LOTR fans from around the world. We were blessed with the most spectacular blue skies and calm weather - no wild wind was going to send our flag flapping away like it did for Eowyn. It’s such a beautiful location surrounded by spectacular scenery, and so easy to imagine the golden hall of Meduseld perched on top of the hill. Afterwards we had an excellent picnic lunch at Potts Station Lodge, including the best carrot cake I had on my whole trip in NZ, and topped off with a glass of sparkling wine. Believe me, you will work up an appetite after the long climb up to the top of Edoras and back. Tammy was an exceptional guide, with so many interesting and amusing stories to tell about the making of the LOTR films. If you’re a true fan, you would know the road goes ever on, but Tammy’s enthusiasm and genuine love of her job made the long drive there and back again, so enjoyable.

When I started this tour I knew very little about The Lord of the Rings but all the pictures I saw showed amazing scenery so I booked it and I’m very glad I did. Our guide Peter was amazing! He was so knowledgeable that he made the movie come to life and the views were incredible. We were a small group of 2 so I think we were a little spoiled and got even more attention. The weather was perfect and lunch was so nice. It turned out to be one of my favorite tours.

Unbelievable. If you truly are a Lord of the Rings fan, then you NEED to take this tour. Seeing Edoras in person and the surrounding area was like stepping into Middle Earth. The landscape is beautiful and the tour itself makes that experience just a little bit more magical. Cheryl, our guide, knew the area so well and even stopped at a few other scenic locations on the way to Mt Sunday! Those were just as beautiful. Highly recommend this!

The description was everything it said! We had a great time, despite the light rain, and would recommend it to anyone who loves to see Lord of the Rings movie film locations. You aren't required to hike to the top, but it is absolutely worth it! Tammy was great with local information and film related info and stories! It's an all day trip but we felt it was worth it! It also included a wonderful box lunch!

Our 9 hour daytrip from Christchurch was long, but it didn't seem that long with all the stops we had. About 16 people were picked up from various hotels in an off road van. Along the way, we stopped for views and the toilet, of course. We made it to Edoras just after lunch, and the climb up to the top was breathtaking. Literally. Whenever I paused to catch a breath or take in the view, I had to grab onto a bush or my husband because it was soooo windy. Tammy was a great guide. She took people up several times a week, hauling a large backpack full of supplies (first aid), and offered a hand to people as they wobbled from the wind or vertigo. We had 2 LOTR swords for people to pose and take photos with. Both Aragorn's. No Rohanian. But it wasn't why I came. At the top, it was fabulous. Simply amazing. Even if you didn't come for the Lord of the Rings, this was just gorgeous place to visit. You just want to put your arms up and shout out a woot! There was one rebar sticking out of the ground that is supposed to be part of the original LOTR build. It was to difficult to remove, so it was cut and left in the ground. Lunch was after we came down, about 2pm. Bring a snack if you get hungry while climbing. Also, fyi. It is a steep climb. Completely natural - no stairs or rails. Take your time and be cautious of the wind.

Circumspect at first I loved this trip to the land of Rohan and the adventure in 4x4 (small group of 2 + the driver / guide) brightened my day and sent me back 25 years to the release of the 2nd part of LOTR, “Les 2 tours”
