Lower Antelope Canyon
Visitors begin their guided Lower Antelope Canyon tour with a short 10-minute walk from the check-in booth to the entrance of of the canyon. The trail leading to the entrance of Lower Antelope Canyon is composed of Navajo sandstone making the decent to the canyon entrance both rocky and sandy, for our guests’ safety and comfort we advise appropriate shoes be worn. As you begin your 1 – 1.5-hour adventure (all-walking) with Lower Antelope Canyon Tours, your experience will span roughly 1,800 meters (1.1 miles) round trip. Upon descending down five flights of stairs (35 meters) into the largest cavern of the tour, guests’ will begin their majestic ascent through the kaleidoscope of colors naturally provided by the unique creation of Navajo Sandstone, as a result of rain, wind, and erosion. The numerous echelons throughout the canyon consist of eight uniquely built ladders (with handrails) for safety.

Orin was amazing, super friendly and so thoughtful with his explanations. He also took so many beautiful photos for us! It was a perfect experience from start to finish. Lower Antelope Canyon is breathtaking, and our guide was fantastic.

We had a great time today on our Lower Antelope Canyon Tour! Our guide was Carmelita. She took the time to answer all our questions, gave lots of information about the canyon and told us stories about her people. She showed us how to take incredible pictures with our phones 😆! Big THANK YOU!

We visited during Thanksgiving break and we booked our reservation a few days prior using Viator (highly do not recommend because price was higher, I didn't realize I could book directly through their own website). Definitely book ahead of time because a lot of time slots and days were already full. Our reservation time was 2:45pm and we checked in around 2:25pm. They started briefing us at 2:30pm and grouped us with our tour guide. Our tour guide was Carmelita, a Native American. She was awesome- taught us what camera settings to use, took pictures of my family, and Native American history and some canyon geology. Highly recommend Carmelita! I was a little worried that our reservation time was too late and we won't get the best lighting, but the canyon was beautiful and we still got a lot of lighting at 3pm end of November. We were the last group for the day. The reason we booked Lower Antelope Canyon was because they allowed kids in the tour. Upper Antelope Canyon only allowed kids 8yrs old and above. I have a 6yr old and 8yr old and they both enjoyed the tour, especially when Carmelita showed us different formations that looked like lion, shark, eagle. The tour was about an hour and some change. If you are visiting Grand Canyon, I highly recommend you go see these slot canyons. It was worth driving to Paige, AZ. We drove here to see horseshoe bend but that was disappointing. But I'm glad we made the drive.

Absolutely stunning! Carmelita was our guide and did an outstanding job! She was a wealth of information and pointed out all of the epic picture spots, noted the faces that can be seen in the rocks, and took amazing pictures of us! The Lower Canyon tour is about 6 times longer than the Upper tour. Still only 1-1.25 hours long. Highly recommend!

I reached out to Chloe regarding if Dixie's Lower Antelope Canyon Tours offered a senior citizen discount, and she responded promptly that unfortunately there were no senior discounts. So, my first contact with Dixie's was impressive because they actually respond to questions. There are 3 of us and we will book the 9:45 am tour for April 23, 2026. Can't wait.
