Day 1: Luang Prabang - Arrival by Flight (Client’s Own Ticket)

Welcome to Luang Prabang, the former spiritual capital of Laos!

Upon arrival to Luang Prabang, our guide and driver will be waiting to provide transport to the hotel for check in. Afterwards, enjoy the remainder of the day free at leisure to explore Luang Prabang independently the nearby evening hill tribe market.

Day 2: Luang Prabang City tour - Kuang Si Waterfall (B)

After breakfast, the city tour begins with a visit to the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, offering an in-depth history of Laos. Continue on foot to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief, and Wat Sensoukarahm, which features a beautiful dazzling golden façade. End this morning’s tour a Wat Xieng Thong, Laos’ most photographed temple. Nextpay a visit to the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre, a museum dedicated to exploring the rich diversity of Laos’ ethnic minorities. The museum’s display features traditional costumes, tools and artifacts alongside in-depth descriptions and written histories. (Note: closed on Monday).

In the afternoon, drive through beautiful rice fields, hills and villages to Kuang Si Waterfalls (1 hour drive). On the way, stop to visit a small ethnic minority village to learn more about their culture and daily life. Arrive at Kuang Si Waterfalls, relax or possibly walk up to the top of the water fall for a nice view and enjoy the beautiful landscape and fresh water in which you can swim during the summer. Visit the bear sanctuary next to the falls, run by Free the Bears Fund Inc then (Optional activity if time permits ). Enjoy embarking on The View Zipline, weaving through the treetops and admiring the breathtaking Kuang Si waterfalls. After your adventure, unwind and relax with a breathtaking view at the View café.

Return to Luang Prabang in the mid-afternoon in time to climb the 328 stairs to the summit of Mt. Phousi for an amazing panoramic sunset. Afterwards, feel free to explore the Night Bazaar in the evening, where you can find lovely collections of handmade textiles produced by local communities from the region surrounding Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Elephant Village - Sunset Cruise (B,L)

From 8:00 am, our English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luang Prabang.

Upon arrival at Elephant Village Camp, you’ll receive a warm welcome and a briefing about elephants. Experience feeding them up close before exploring the elephant village, including the hospital, museum, gallery, and dung paper making facility. Enjoy a unique Mahout experience with one-on-one time with an elephant. Then, embark on a traditional Lao long boat for a scenic ride to Tad Sae Waterfall, where you can swim and relax in the clear waters (Tad Sae Waterfall is seasonal and is dry normally between February to July.

(Note: water levels will vary with seasonal conditions of Tad Sae Waterfall is dry normally between February to July).

Lunch will be served at the Elephant Camp restaurant with a buffet including vegetarian options, along with coffee, tea, and water. At 1:00 pm, return transfer back to Luang Prabang and continue to vist Chang Khong village, a village famous for its hand weaving and Sa Paper marking , afterwards. Return to your hotel for relaxing till transfer to embark on a sunset cruise operates daily from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and it includes canapés and free-flow soft drinks. After sunset cruise , transfer to the hotel and the remainder of the day is free at leisure for your own exploring or relaxing in this charming city.

Day 4: Luang Prabang - Alms giving - Pak Ou Caves - Nong Khiaw (145km /4-5hrs drives) (B)

For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. Return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the nearby pier begins your private tour to board a private longtail boat for a scenic 2 hour ride up the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves. Located upstream from Luang Prabang, the Pak Ou Caves contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of all different sizes. En route there is an optional visit Ban Xang Hay, a village that specializes in making rice wine, then continue on boat cruise up to visit the Pakou Caves.

In addition to the striking Buddha statues, the view from the cave provides sweeping scenes of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers. After visiting the caves return to Ban Pakou village and set off our journey drives to Nong Khiaw. On the way, stop at Ban Nayang, a village of the Lue people. You’ll also have time to walk through a well-preserved village of beautiful traditional houses and see how textiles are made.

Arriving at Nong Khiaw in the late afternoon, (if time permits) visit Phathok Caves. Pha Thok Cave is a series of caves in a limestone cliff where villagers and Pathet Lao eluded bombing during the Second Indochina War.

Transfer to your hotel in Nong Khiaw.

Day 5: Nong Khiaw - Nam Ou River Cruise to Muang Ngoi (B)

After breakfast , your trip starts with a boat ride up to Sop jam village. Here you will see the most scenic views of the Nam Ou River with its big limestone mountains. Also Sop jam village is famous for its traditional Lao silk and cotton weaving. Local people will show you how they are weaving silk and cotton scarfs with their beautiful pattern. You can purchase here some souvenirs for you and your family at the cheapest price and support at the same time the local people directly.

After spending some time in this small but colorful village, you will take the boat downstream and stop at Muang Ngoi village. You will have time to walk around the village, to visit the historical cave, which was used as a bomb shelter by the local people during the Indochina War, then keep walking to Tad Mok waterfall. Here you can swim and enjoy your time here with nature after return to boat, then bring you back to Nong Khiaw.

Transfer to your hotel in Nong Khiaw.

Day 6: Nong Khiaw - Luang Prabang - Departure (Client’s Own Ticket) (B)

You can wake up early in the morning and climb up to Pha Som Nang View Point (about 30 min light climbing). Take in views of the town on the Nam Ou River surrounded by karst mountains and a picturesque sunset rises. Afterwards, back to your hotel for breakfast.

Depending on your departure flight schedule time from Luang Prabang. Transfer back by car from Nong Khiaw to Luang Prabang, which takes about 4.5 hrs. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, transfer to the International Luang Prabang Airport for your departure.
