What To Expect

We begin our journey in one of Lucca’s main squares, bordered by majestic XVI-century palaces. As we cross this vibrant hub, we’ll head towards our first stop to dive into the local culinary delights.
As we admire the beautiful church and the surrounding square, we’ll sample the first traditional dish of Lucca: the Buccellato, a delicious sweet bread filled with fruit and anise. We’ll take 30 minutes to savor this local treat and enjoy the sights.

3.00We are very disappointed! If we did not ask our guide questions, we would not have learned anything about the city and life in Lucca! At the gastronomy level, we would have liked to go to a salumeria, to be able to taste several specialities of cold cuts. We got a single slice of fennel salami. Same for cheese, we would have liked to go to a cheese factory or grocery store and taste several cheeses. We only had a tiny piece of pecorino! Same for the wine! We have everything in the same place next to the pane dolce, a little easy!! The restaurant was average, we thought we would enjoy a pasta dish at a pasta producer!! Service of this gastronomic tour was minimal and expensive for what we had!!

5.00We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Alessandra. We were a family of three and were joined by two other families of three. It was a great group and Alessandra led us through the city seamlessly. She gave us great information about the city and most importantly brought us to the most delicious establishments to sample their local food. It was some of the best food we had during our trip through Tuscany and the best gelato we have ever tasted. Thank you Alessandra!

5.00We had a wonderful experience on the walking food tour with our delightful guide Giordano. He was so knowledgeable about Lucca, we really were not expecting to learn so much about the city itself. The food we sampled at each stop was top notch and plentiful- we even took home leftovers! Highly recommend this tour and also Giordano himself as he really made the experience fantastic.

5.00We had the best time with Alessandra she has a great personality and guided us through the streets of lucca and introduced us to foods and restaurants we most likely would not have known about or tasted that are local favorites or traditions. Everything we had was delicious thank you so much for such an enjoyable evening, it couldn't have been better.

5.00Loved this food tour! Alessandra was amazing. We have done food tours in many different cities and this one topped our list. I loved that we got to sit down and talk about food at different stops. Choosing your own pasta course is a plus. The first stop was our favorite. We went back and bought the wine! If you are looking for a tour that focuses on food instead of the sights, this is the tour for you.
