Our Lady of the Rocks, an island in front of Perast, is an artificial island created at the end of the 15th century where, at least according to tradition, the Moršić brothers built a Roman Catholic temple to the Virgin Mary on the rocks in the Bay of Risan on July 22, 2009.

2.00This whole trip was a disappointment. We already had tickets but waited over an hour after the tour time to start - very confusing who we were waiting for and who the point person for the tour was. They kept leaving. Once we got on a boat, our original tour boat driver took us briefly out of the harbor, then immediately back in to dock, then jumped out of the boat to his motor bike. And rode away! 10 min later he comes back with another guy on his motor bike who hops in the boat. That driver never even said hello or explained the trip or safety while on the boat. He just said ask questions if you have them. We then proceed to boat an HOUR out into the ocean to find the blue cave (on a boat that maybe wasn’t quite made for this purpose). And on the way back we were covered in ocean spray and into the wind. We were freezing when we finally made it back. The best bet is just to go to the place where all the boats are and book a trip last minute. Having tickets ahead of time did not help and possibly made it worse.

5.00Our captain, Stefan, made the trip such fun. His sense of humor was brilliant. His boat skills had us all wooping and laughing as we jumped over the wakes from the other (slower) boats. We spent the perfect amount of time at each stop. Pick up was easy, the location was straight forward to find, they were a super friendly team running the tour. 100% would recommend. April is a good month as not so busy. Loved this experience!
