Breakfast
Mara River
Early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Maasai Mara is famous for its black mane lions and the annual wildebeest migration. This is probably one of Kenya's most visited reserves with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti ecosystems giving life to both reserves before finally pouring out into Lake Victoria. Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle instinct-led Great Migration (July-October) from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara in Kenya. You will have a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives arriving at the camp in the evening. Add more richness to your Masai mara experience with an optional cultural visit to a Maasai village. Another optional event is an early morning hot air balloon ride over the reserve.

Kelvin and Rustic Nature tours was super responsive and flexible. We made the request for a 3 day Safari last minute (2 days before) and he was able to arrange everything very quickly and smoothly. the Safari was great, we were able to see all of the big animals within the park (leopards, Cheetahs, Lions) and even got to see a kill. Came away with some great pictures and the lodge they booked was perfect, great value for money. Kelvin was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide! Would highly recommend rustic nature tours for your Kenya Safaris.

An amazing experience, the whole safari was great, we saw the big 5 and the ugly 5, as well as many more animals. We saw some that are rare and hard to see, and we really enjoyed our stay in Masai Mara. Shout out to our guide , Kelvin, for been so knowledgeable, flexible, and attentive to detail. Our accommodation enchoro camp was very nice & food was wonderful. Can't recommend them highly. Asante sana!

An amazing time spent in the Massai Mara reserve with a great tour guide, Peter! He was very patient and made sure we had the best of views of the wild animals. Will certainly recommend! Kelvin was also a great host in Nairobi where we witnessed the scintillating Safari Cat dance!

We really enjoyed the safari and saw a lot of animals from a short distance. Our driver (Geoff) was amazing and knew where to find the animals and how to approach them, we were often the first to spot and the closes to the animals. We saw everything except for rhino's, and even the rare caracal. Time management was good and we arrived in Nairobi well on time. Camp was fine (for a budget camp) and out in nature (we even heard Hyena's at night). Only points of improvement were the picnic lunch on the full-day safari: i.e. drink yoghurt that was in a hot car for 6+ hours and meat included in a vegetarian lunch. Moreover, we were told that we would probably be in a small group (maybe even private) in this season with a maximum of 6, but when we drove away there were supposed to be 9 people in our 8 people car... 1 person did not attend so we were with 8 (which is fine but then don't tell us we will be in a smaller group)

This was my first safari and its safe to say it won't be my last! The lodge we stayed at was on the border to the park which meant we could start the game drives early and even do one late afternoon/evening before it was dark. The lodge had been arranged for us and was full board, with the lodge providing packed lunch for us when on the full day game drive. The room and staff were all lovely and pleasant. But the main event was the game drives, on these we entered the Maasai Mara and experienced its beauty and all the amazing wildlife. Thanks to our guides knowledge (Kelvin), we navigated through the park spotting many of the animals that call it home, seeing some of these animals up close in the wild is breathtaking. Kelvins knowledge of the park itself, the animals, the land and history was also impressive and only added to the experience. The experience included travel to the lodge and back to our hotel in Nairobi with a lunch stop on the way back.

I’m amazed! This trip was 100% perfect! We saw everything we hoped for and more. Maasai Mara never disappoints! Kelvin is such customer oriented and goes over and beyond for your own personal experience. He has ideas in his head what he would like to achieve for the day and in our case we even ticked the extras for the days and saw more than we could hope for. The accommodation was lovely, the food was amazing. And I just love the Maasai Mara. The landscape is breathtaking and the wildlife in it makes it just the perfect place to be. Whoever wants to experience a successful safari should choose this tour. Minimum 3 days to get an impression of how big and awesome the Maasai Mara is. Next time I’m planning to spend even more days there, it’s just my personal happy place! With Kelvin on your side there’s nothing to worry about, you just know you’ll have a great time! He is continually in contact with other guides and as soon as something interesting comes up, he’s heading that way. His knowledge about the wildlife, animals and landscape is enormous and his eyesight doesn’t disappoint. He sees things we needed our binoculars for! From huge groups of elephants to antelopes, gazelles, wildebeest, zebras and giraffes passing through the landscape, he found us so many lions, by themselves, with cubs and even lionesses eating a warthog. Expectations outdone! We’ll be back!!
