Absolutely fantastic experience. We were supposed to travel in July but had to cancel our trip due to the political situation. Kamau was extremely helpful and we could rebook both the safari and the balloon ride, without any penalties. The week before our safari, we were informed about pick-up and Peter collected us from our hotel as agreed. Peter was an absolute star. My wife likes plants and the two of them discussed every flower they saw on the way to the park. The journey was fun and Peter told interesting stories. When we made a trip into the Maasai Mara, we spotted a jeep that was stuck and Peter used our cables to pull it free. Clearly, that is one of the reasons why he is so popular with other drivers, always helpful. We did spot lions hunting wildebeest and 13 jeeps were told by the ranger to keep our distance. As nothing happened, 11 jeeps left but Peter explained the lions might give up and look for shade near our vehicle. Indeed that is what happened and we saw the lions pass us from 5 ft away. It got even better. Five cheetah's walked past our vehicle on their way to hunt gazelles and when Peter mentioned a little later we were late for lunch, we spotted four elephants. Of course we wanted to see them and they had their lunch before us, as we watched them eat shrub from a couple of metres away. Our day could hardly have gone better but we still had a desert. As we dined in Simba Lodge, a hippo stepped out of the river and walked along the opposite bank. All the other guest stood beside our table and we looked at the magnificent beast. We were sad to go back to Nairobi the next day, and Peter dropped us off at the Fairview were we had a lovely lunch and talked non-stop about the fantastic experience. I did visit Amboseli with Wasili Safaris last year and enjoyed that too. Mt Kilimanjaro is fantastic, but for me, Maasai Mara wins it. You get a better chance to see more animals from a shorter distance. Thanks Peter and Kamau
