Royal Palace of Madrid
The Royal Palace of Madrid isn't just a residence; it's a place steeped in grandeur and history. Although the current kings reside elsewhere, this majestic palace remains the setting for important state ceremonies and solemn occasions, making it come alive with its significance. Let's dive into its story now. While Juvarra's original vision didn't materialize, the Royal Palace stands proud as Europe's largest inhabited palace. The Spanish Royal Family might not call it home, but it still holds their official residence. Construction lasted until 1764, and when Carlos III finally inhabited it, the palace boasted a staggering 135,000 square meters, 3,418 rooms, 870 windows, 240 balconies, and an impressive 44 staircases. It's more than just facts and figures; this palace holds tales of splendor and tradition, making every step within its walls an encounter with the essence of Spanish history.

Our tour guide, Andrea, was fantastic! I would recommend this tour. Easy access and a very knowledgeable tour. It was an easy walk but definitely eat a snack before.

The experience was excellent!! The tour guide knew the palace. Knew Spanish history. And knew all about the Royals that had lived in the palace. Pointed out all kinds of interesting information.

Be prepared to walk as the palace is huge, but it really was a wonderful experience. The tour guide spoke great English. She definitely knew her Spanish and Royal history. She answered many questions. She also seemed to know all the security people inside the palace, and got a few insights from these conversations into certain rooms being open and a few pieces had been moved to point out to us. Felt like we were touring with an "insider". It really was a great tour.

Poor customer service and support. Left hanging without a tour and refused refund! Called for help with no answer. We weren’t the only ones. Viator doesn’t care that another tour company failed. Kept our money though! Thieves in my opinion.

BUYER BEWARE . This company will take your money with no flexibility if something goes wrong. We booked a tour just a couple hours prior to the tour. We arrived at the destination early but instructions weren’t obvious on our reservations. By the time we figured it out the tour head left. We called the tour company and no answer. We asked to change the tickets to the next day but the refused by sending us a not so friendly note! Both Viator and Golden Tours I will never deal with again. Book directly with the site you are visiting and NOT a 3rd party tour provider!

This was exactly what we wanted. We met our guide at the store, the headsets worked well, skip the line was brilliant, and the tour was great. Enough time in the important spots and a good pace through less important rooms. I’d highly recommend this to anyone
