MainStrasse Village
Mainstrasse Village beckons travelers with its quaint streets and rich German-American heritage. This National Historic District boasts beautifully preserved buildings housing an array of eclectic shops and a diverse culinary scene. Throughout the year, the village comes alive with vibrant festivals and live music, promising a warm welcome and unforgettable experiences for visitors exploring the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati region.
he Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitor's Bureau commissioned noted Greek sculptor Eleftherios Karkadoulias to do the piece. Using his daughter as a model, he worked over one and a half years and cast the Goose Girl using the "lost wax" method. The fountain was erected and unveiled in October of 1980. The Goose Girl fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm was the inspiration for the theme, representative of the culture of the area.

Mike was a fantastic guide! It was the perfect blend of delicious food and local history. Sadly it was a rainy day but he kept us under awnings when possible. The rain didn’t stop us we had a fantastic time!

Riverside Food Tours is a great company to select for your food tour experience. The restaurant & food choices are perfect & there is plenty to keep your hunger away! Mike was a great guide as is his wife (whom I've had the pleasure of having on a different tour they offer). I highly reccommend the Mainstrausse tour, you won't be disappointed! This was my husband's first food tour & he thoroughly enjoyed it.

The tour was fantastic! Loved all of it. Mike was very knowledgeable of the area and kept our group on time. He ordered food , so it was ready for our group. Mike answered all questions we had of the area. The food tasting was so good and everyone had more than enough to eat. We’ve been on several food tours in many cities and we were not disappointed on this tour. We went to several of Mike’s recommendations after the tour and they they were all great! Highly recommend this tour!

If you are on the fence about doing this trip or not...DO IT ! There are two main reasons why you should take the Mainstrasse Village Food Tour in Covington KY...1.). Covington is cool. Very "high vibe" and a range of experiences from total high end dining to just plain fun and "local" establishments in nature. 2.). We had Mike - and we read reviews saying Laura was awesome too - but the guide inputs along the way were SO interesting...Mike gave us so many interesting insights regarding the storied history of Covington KY and neighboring Cincinnati OH - it was a major bonus on top of the already super good food experiences and it added depth to the experience that you just wouldn't get on a "wander" trip. Bring a camera - there are so many "photo-ops" along the way in this adorable setting. Thanks very much, Riverside Food Tours - it was a great experience for the 6 of us in our family !

Loved the history and heritage of the area, the varied foods, and the variety of different restaurant atmospheres. Some historic; some new; all unique. Food selections were delicious! My favorite did was the gluten free frosted pumpkin cheesecake at The Spoon. Laura and Katie did an awesome job! What a neat thing to do to learn about the area, tantalize your palate, and acquaint yourself with the various food options too! Also some great advice on where to go for dinner😋
