Once at the top, our local guides from Valley Isle Excursions will set you up for the best experience—pointing out incredible viewing locations, sharing tips for seeing the sunrise, and telling stories about the history of the island.
After sunrise, we’ll take a short tour of the remainder of Haleakala National Park and the nearby ranch lands.

5.00We had a great experience! We were picked up on time and driven to the summit. Along the way we stopped for a bathroom break and were given fleece-lined ponchos to wear. Although I wore cuddle duds, pants, wool socks, and a winter coat, it was not enough. It is cold and windy up there! However, since we were given the ponchos to wear, the only thing cold on me was my hands taking pictures of the most beautiful sunrise. The included breakfast at the plantation was delicious! It was an EARLY start but so worth it to see the sunrise. Brad and Jeff were great tour guides!

5.00After attempting to aquire Park Service tickets for months without success, we booked this tour just before leaving for Maui. We were so happy we did. Everyone, from the office staff to our amazing guide/driver, Jeff, took care of everyone, right down to getting us to the summit and making sure we had unobstructed views of the complete event. 5.00🌄 Magical & Spiritual Haleakalā Sunrise Watching the sunrise at Haleakalā National Park with Valley Isle Excursions was more than just beautiful — it felt deeply spiritual. Being above the clouds in that quiet stillness felt like a reset… calming, grounding, and almost otherworldly. Our driver was also very knowledgeable and helpful, which made the experience even more meaningful. The tour was smooth and stress-free from start to finish. Tip: dress warm — it’s cold but so worth it. ✨ Truly a powerful and unforgettable experience.

5.00Taking the tour was our best decision for first time visitors. Our Guides Jeff and Abe, did the steep, winding driving showed us where to stand to best see the sunrise, and provided some Hawaiian history. I highly recommend taking this tour!

5.00If you're visiting Maui, do NOT skip this tour. Watching the sunrise from the summit of Haleakala is something I will never forget, and our guide Everett made the whole experience truly special. He was knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and magic of the island with our group. Pickup was seamless and right on time, and Everett kept everyone informed and comfortable throughout the early morning ride up. The fleece ponchos were a lifesaver at the summit, it's cold up there, but totally worth it! The sunrise itself was breathtaking, watching the light break over the clouds from 10,000 feet is something words can barely describe. After the summit, we toured more of Haleakala National Park before sitting down to a wonderful breakfast. The whole morning was perfectly paced and felt effortless thanks to the incredible organization of the Valley Isle Excursions team. A huge thank you to Everett for making this such a memorable morning. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Maui, this is a must-do!
