Abe and Brad were great. Pickup went smoothly and the drive was quiet and peaceful. There is a bathroom stop on the way, and you will arrive with plenty of time to see the stars. I’ve never seen so many shooting stars. They do provide a fleece lined poncho to use while at altitude which was a game changer. Even though I packed warm clothes with layers, this made all the difference. The sunset was gorgeous, and well worth the early start time. We got a lot of information on the way down the mountain which was interesting, and the restaurant was a cool spot to enjoy eating and walking around. Dropoff went off without a hitch. My wife is not a morning person and didn’t really get my I wanted to go on this excursion with such an early start time, but by the time we got back to the hotel she was saying how she would recommend this to anyone asking about things to do in Maui. Thank you Valley Isle Excursions!

This was one of the best tours we’ve ever done in Hawaii. We’ve been coming to Hawaii for years our guide and our tour guide was one of the best I’ve seen. It’s obvious that Abe is very knowledgeable and loves his job. He made sure our every need was taken care of from providing Parkes to showing us the best place to stand for the viewing of the sunrise. The breakfast was great at the plantation house. I can’t say enough about this except positive and warm feelings. If anyone is going to take this tour, this is the one to take.

Super gorgeous sunrise, really lucked out with weather and conditions! Pick up and transport made things so convenient, and the team at Valley Isle did an awesome job with communication (even calling to say when the driver was on the way). Pickup was obviously super early, but luckily was able to nap in the van through the rest of the pickups and the drive up. Only bummer was that it was so cold at the top! I brought thermals and fleece-lined pants and snow pants and a parka and fuzzy hat and was STILL freezing - thank everything that Valley Isle also provided fleece-lined ponchos that helped with the wind chill! Even being so cold tho, seeing the sun rise through the clouds over the crater was absolutely magical, and there are no regrets.

This excursion is an incredible experience. It's almost spiritual. The company picked us up at our resort and dropped us back off at the resort. It leaves early (2:30am) but it was well worth the trip. Our tour leader was Jeff and he was very attentive to the needs of his patrons. Do yourself a favor and book this trip and this company! Watch the weather to ensure that you choose a date that will be viewer friendly.

We had a great experience up to Haleakala and the breakfast was great. It was very convenient to be picked up and dropped off from our hotel. Obviously, was a a very early start for sunrise (2AM) considering having to pick everyone up but it allowed for us to get a great viewing spot.
