Beyond amazing!!! Wow! If you have the chance, go out to see the manta rays! Danielle the captain was friendly, helpful and did a great job. Lucas and Dylan helped get us set up in the water and the mantas did the rest. What a fantastic experience!

We saw 4 mantas but agree that the sales pitch is hard and pretty abrasive. We had a great experience and chose this company so that we could rebook if mantas were a no show. However, I could wear long sleeves all summer and I didn’t wear a wet suit. Long sleeve rash guard and I was fine. The Go Pro would be so hard to hold and stay a float that I don’t know how you would even manage that. We had a good experience but could skip the sales pitch and the abrasive attitude.

Once booked, the operator sends out very detailed instructions for the day of. We did find that parking wasn't the best, had to park up the street quite a way. Not a terrible walk though. The actual time in the water was perfect. We seen many mantas, the come right up to you and often graze you. The are huge and seem playful. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions. There were only 15 people on our tour, so the smaller size was great. This is a must do on the Big Island and I would do it again in the future if im back!

Instructions prior to trip vs the actual experience were night and day. We rented wet suits (additional cost even though the tour description said wet suits, snorkel and mask included). No mantas! We floated in fairly cold water for 35mins and never heard and updates from the guide until it was time to go. If you cannot swim, don’t like bobbing in cool water and cannot climb out of water into a boat, this tour is not for you. Was offered a free rebook and will not be doing it. Very little apology and out $450+ (we also had to rent a prescription's mask for my daughter at $25 because the regular mask will not fit over glasses). Lots of extra cost with little to show for it.

We had a great time! Dylan, Danielle, Jake, and Greg were all very nice from check in to in the water. The boat ride was quick, group was small, and we got right in with the mantra rays faster than I expected. They get sooo close - I can’t recommend this experience enough as well as the team who made it seamless. Thank you and we’ll definitely come out again when we’re back.

No Warning!!!! They will not give you a warning when a giant Manta Ray will appear out of nowhere and swim inches from your face!! Good crew, very short boat ride.

Upon arrival you were met with a sales (rental) pitch for go - pro, waterproof camera bag, life vest, and wet suits. If you want that - fine. But we were also told that we needed to have our upper bodies covered and said we should rent the wet suit shirt. I said there was nothing in the emails or text messages from the company that said we needed to wear t shirts or be covered in any way. Guy said “that’s a risk you’re taking getting in the water with all these creatures out there. There are jellyfish but if you want to take your chances that’s on you.” He scared everyone else in the tour into renting wetsuit tops and several life vests. He didn’t bother to tell them that they would be giving you a flotation device to use to swim to the raft. Obviously they make a lot of money on the extra rentals. Our group declined all extras and we’re just fine. The scaring people sales tactic was a bit much.

It was a very hectic scene upon arrival at the site for many Manta Ray tours. It is not easy finding a place to park, but our tour guide for Kona Manta Ray Snorkel Tours, Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours, gave us good guidance before arriving. We had actually contacted them to modify our reservation from 9:40 PM to 8:30 PM, and they were prompt and responsive. They texted us to make sure we knew when and where to go for the tour. Upon arrival, we were acknowledged while they cared for previous tour attendees. They really do care for the people as well as the beautiful manta rays welfare. Our tour was carefully managed, informing us along the way, making sure we were in the right place at the right time with the right gear and information. Our tour guide team, Devon, Rory, Greg and Leo did a fantastic job during the whole tour. We knew exactly what to do during the whole tour. After a short boat ride to the site, Leo led us with the lighted board out to the manta rays, and we had an amazing show!! There were at least 10 mantas who were constantly rotating under us attempting to eat the plankton floating in the light during almost the entire 30 minutes in the water. We also joined up with other tours to encourage the mantas to stay in our area. It was the perfect amount of time to be in the water because I started to get cold at the end. I was giggling with happiness at watching these magnificent creatures gliding through the water SO very near us. Once the tour was done, we efficiently got back into the boat and back to the dock to return any 'rented' items. It was a truly magical experience, and will definitely bring our son & daughter-in-law back to experience this amazing tour. Great tour with this family-owned/run business. By the way, the experience is JUST like this picture, but you are inches away for these beautiful creatures. One actually brushed up on my husband ... very special experience.
