Beautiful cruise seeing Maria island from the seaside. The cliffs and rock formation are very unique, including entering one of the limestone caves. The guide did a good job explaining everything. The chalking the island itself was also very enjoyable and we hmfot to see a lot of animals incl wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, and beautiful birds. The landscape is very pretty. You really should dress very warm and be ok with large waves abd getting wet. We went in spring, and even coming from a cold country I was surprised how cold it was. Several guess got seasick. The boat is covered but they open the sides and you will feel the wind and water very strongly, so please prepare extra well! It's worth it, just make sure you are up for it.

My first trip after arriving in Tasmania and it was amazing. Skipper Steve, deckies Molly and Xavier made sure we are all safe, comfortable and entertained. You could tell Steve is really experienced at how he navigate the waters and was very knowledgable. Educated us on the geography of the rocks as well. We were lucky with the good weather and the many dolphins, whale sightings. Molly guided us on the land walk and we came across a number of wildlife (wombat, echidnas, etc) And since the boat was smaller than the other service boat, we had a cozy group. No delays as well. Overall, would recommend it.

A solid 5 star experience. Excellent value for money and a great adventure circumnavigating Maria Island. Not cheap, but yet good value for a big day out. Great boat & great staff. A big shout out to Ruby the deckie, hardest working & most engaging onboard.

Such a fantastic day out on and around Maria Island. Felt totally safe with the Skipper and hostess who are both very knowledgeable and passionate about this area. Tasty salad lunch and glass of wine. Fabulous scenery, saw NZ fur seals close up. Saw wombats, paddimelons and bird life on the trek around on land. Very interesting history. Highly recommend.

I had a great day both cruising around and exploring Maria Island. We cruised around Maria Island for about 6 hours exploring some beautiful rock formations as well as seeing seals and dolphins along the way. We then explored Maria Island where we got to see wild wombats, bandicoots, wallabies and some amazing bird species. Our tour was made all the more enjoyable with our captain Michael and tour guide Rachel who kept us well informed about Maria Island and supplied us with lots of treats. I thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hobart. But a word of warning to anyone sitting on the top deck it can get very choppy and cold, so you may want to move between the decks.

What an amazing afternoon out on the water with Mike and Bella from Maria Island Cruises We did the new 2 hour cruise which departs and finishes at Maria and we loved it!!! Starting in Darlington, we headed past Ile Du Nord and along the Fossil Cliffs, then down south towards Mistaken Cape and Riedle Bay. After making our way back to Darlington Bay, we made a quick detour to the Painted Cliffs, before disembarking at the jetty. You won’t regret it, it’s the trip of a lifetime. If you’re in the area, jump onboard.

Such a fun day to Maria Island! The shuttle picks up from Brooke St Pier and is right on time. It’s about 75 minutes to the boat and there is time for a quick breakfast at the office cafe. The boat holds about 25 people. The crew is amazing and they are very talented at learning names! The boat ride is about 30 minutes to the island and then you work your way clockwise all the way around. The geology is incredible and there are so many fascinating caves and waterfalls! There isn’t a lot of wildlife on the water (birds and seals) but you can find them if you look for them. Breakfast was a variety of small little bit size pastries and breads with drinks. It does get pretty cold on the water with the wind so bring layers and you can always take them off if you get warm. Lunch was delicious and plentiful. The land portion of the tour was 2 hours around Darlington and the surrounding area. It’s pretty accessible and only had small hills to different buildings. Lots of wombats! We even got to see dolphins on the way back! Such a fun day and very worth the price. Seeing the coastline from the water is so worth it compared to the ferry that just lets you see the little jetty there.

We (4 of us 17-67 years) had the best time on our circumnavigation cruise with Mike and Tamsin this week. Seals, dolphins, wombats, an echidna, history and everything in between. Lunch and drinks were very generous. The weather decided to pack it in at the end of the day but Mike knew exactly what he was doing, made us all feel safe and got us back to land still smiling. A special shout out to Tamsin. The perfect hostess. On the boat and on the island. Happy, accomodating, knowledgeable and down to earth. Tamsin really went above and beyond. Highly recommend to everyone.
