4.00An excellent tour of two of Slovenia’s cities - it was just the two of us and our guide so the experience was really tailored to our interests (eg we stopped to do a wine tasting). Unfortunately Ptuj castle was closed because it was a Monday but the guide was going to feed this back to the company to prevent this from happening again. Our guide was very knowledgable about both the cities and the country as a whole and we came away with a much greater understanding of Slovenia’s history and culture.

3.00Friendly and knowledgeable guide, basic sights in 2 cities seen and a reasonable amount of information given. However when we booked this trip it was very clearly titled 'Maribor, Ptuj and Vineyards (to include wine tasting). Although by the time of travel this title had changed, the full description of the itinerary remained the same. Not only did our guide claim (it seemed genuinely) to know nothing about the vineyards part of the trip, we were also deprived of the promised visits to a monastery and to Ptuj castle, since both were closed on a Monday, the day we were visiting. Our guide did make a half-hearted attempt to find a wine tasting experience for us, but we don't imagine this could ever have been fitted in as claimed, especially if castle and monastery had been open. We felt we were miss old this trip, and are very concerned that To Do in Slovenia appear to have complete monopoly over trips in this area - this followed their cancelling another trip we had booked (not through Viator) at short notice, claiming lack of numbers - yet they ran this trip with 3 passengers. We would not book again, or recommend.

5.00Our guide Jiga was enthusiastic. We got to experience charming old town sights and good Bosnian food. We also saw the heart of the vineyards and had a nice glass of white wine to round off the tour.

5.00We enjoyed every minute of our trip to Maribor, Ptuj and the vineyards! Zigai showed us all the best spots and was very informative! Wine tasting was included and we would highly recommend the wine from Vina Śerbinek - we loved it so much we brought 3 bottles home!

5.00I signed up for a tour of Maribor and Ptuj, and it ended up being a private tour. It was amazing! Barbara K. was an incredible guide, and in all of my travels, I haven’t had a guide who was so informed. She was great at explaining culture, politics, religion, etc.. with such ease. What’s even better is that she enjoyed it! I recommend going to other parts of Slovenia besides Bled and the Caves although they were stunning. Maribor and Ptuj were different, and I thought I got a great picture of the country as a whole. This was a 5 Star tour!!!! Definitely ask for Barbara K. when you go!!

4.00Enjoyed the museum exhibits at Ptuj Castle. Monastery fascinating. Since the area is quite far from Ljubljana, too much of the day is spent driving.
