An educational and tasty tour of the local Marseille restaurants. Eric was great, he explained the history of the area, he was a local so he knew his way around

It was great to wander around the Port and Panier areas within the Marseille Old Town District and taste different food options at the selected restaurants. The only improvement suggestion I would offer would be to arrange to have the mussels before the pizza.

We highly recommend this tour! It was such an enjoyable afternoon, strolling through the streets of Marseille sampling local food and drink at spots that we would never have likely found on our own. Our guide John was simply outstanding! His knowledge of Marseille was nothing short of amazing and his passion for his city was obvious. His casual, and kind personality made us feel like we were being shown around by an old friend. Thank you John, for a wonderful experience! If you're a "foodie" and looking for an insightful and unique tour of the beautiful city of Marseille, this is a must do tour!

We really enjoyed the trip. Outstanding feature was our host Jean, with his intimate and passionate knowledge of Marseille history, and his beloved Olympique Marseille! The food was very pleasant, particularly the mussels, but we thought the tour was expensive for the quantity and quality. Not sure that you can honestly have a authentic food tour in Marseille without at least a sample of its iconic dish, Bouillabaisse. I would have given the tour three stars if it wasn't for our excellent host.

My wife and I met our host, Jean Rombert at the pre-scheduled location. There were eight of us in total - two groups of four (all of us are in our 40s - 60s). Jean is a stand-up guy - he was on-time and spoke perfect English, Spanish, and French. He is quite friendly, extremely cordial, and has a true passion for the Marseille people and their history, along with a vast knowledge of the history of the area. He went out of his way to ensure we were all relaxed and did not push us to walk or travel farther than any of us were comfortable with. We visited 5 or 6 different locations with only a short walk in-between them. The weather was absolutely impeccable - clear skies and perfect sunlight without a cloud in the sky combined with the slightest of breezes - just enough to keep the sun’s rays from drawing any attention to your nervous system, but never even a mild chill was felt. We enjoyed some delicious cheeses, wines, pastis, pizza, mussels, etc… All of the food was local and delicious. PLENTY of food was provided so come hungry! We highly recommend the experience and would do it again! It was a casual and friendly afternoon and Jean allowed us to move at our own pace. We were neither rushed nor bored. We felt relaxed and refreshed when the tour was finished. Thank you Jean!

The food stops were way too close together with minimal walking in between. We could not hear when the guide spoke too many people and we needed headsets. Not enough history about the city at all. I learned more about the other guests than I did Marseille. The food choices were wonderful and the guide was very nice but needs to work on controlling the conversation with a microphone.

Lorie is very personable and has a knowledge of the area. She is patient and made the experience very enjoyable and fun. It was quite an experience to sample several of Marseille’s eateries. There were things we might never have tried, if she hadn’t showed us. Also she told us of shops we might like as we walked through the neighborhood. We liked it very much and we would consider doing it again.
