Your expert local guide will narrate as you take a scenic drive over the Remutaka Ranges, where you will enjoy wine tastings at a selection of Martinborough wineries, on this full day tour. Lunch will be served at a vineyard restaurant before the tour heads to the south Wairarapa coast. Visit the rugged coastal village of Ngawi and the North Island's largest permanent seal colony as well as a drive by of the famed “Paths of the Dead” from Lord of the Rings, the Putangirua Pinnacles. Finally climb the steps to the Cape Palliser Lighthouse for epic sweeping sea views before heading to the Lake Ferry Hotel on the edge of Lake Onoke for dinner. This 10 hour tour takes in a variety of stunning landscapes in the greater Wellington region.

So much more than I expected! It was an adventure, seeing many things,. Love the chocolate Tasting! The food was gourmet! The one winery was excellent!

Wow! What an incredible day. Phil was a great host and really showed off the highlights of the area. The chocolate shop tasting was so fun and lunch at Poppies was incredible. The drive along the coast was gorgeous and we even got to see a pod of dolphins! Would highly recommend this tour. It’s good for both solo travelers and groups.

The Martinborough Wine and Wild Coast Tour from Wellington was fantastic! The countryside was beautiful, wine tasting and lunch at Poppie’s Winery was wonderful, hiking up to the stairs to Cape Palliser Lighthouse was awesome and dinner at the historic hotel was wonderful! Our tour guide Phil was terrific, engaging and fun to spend the day with especially for our small group of four. I would highly recommend this tour.
A long day, but so many different thingws to see.

A very full day. Lovely walk in the Kaitoke Regional Park, then off for a quick visit to a cheese shop and very expensive chocolate shop. So many varieties and all delicious. Next was a wine tasting at Poppies Vineyard and the best shared platters I've ever had. Then on to Cape Palliser, the southern-most point of the North Island. Due to the type of terrain the cliffs are constantly falling into the sea. Very close to the edge at times. Stopped to see some seals sunbaking on the rocks. Also watched a fishing b oat being launched off the beach. They have to use bulldozers as the shingle is too soft. Finally, a stop at Cape Palliser lighthouse with 252 steps for the brave to climb. Then back via Remutaki Hill to Featherstone for a delicious dinner before returning to our hotels.

Michael was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. The drive to the coast is a must do. I highly recommend this tour.
