This was fantastic. I highly recommend the guided tour! Even if you have moderate background knowledge of Mary Todd Lincoln, this tour gives much more insight and having the visual of the home adds interest. It’s a must for any Lincoln-file like me.

We took the daily guided tour of the Mary Todd Lincoln House and made our reservations in advance. Liv was a very knowledgeable tour leader and told us about the large Todd family who resided here. After Robert Todd died, his widow Betsy sold the house and it was used for many other purposes besides as a residence. Liv told us about Mary Todd Lincoln's relatives during the Civil War and how most fought for the Confederates. We also learned about the slaves who toiled for the family. Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful tour. Durbin (our guide) was very knowledgeable and super interesting. He provided details and context that enrichened the artifacts and brought the events to life. We had a fantastic time. It was well worth the hour, and we were able to stay longer to view everything. And, although there is a self-guided tour, the guided tour is so much better because of the knowledge of the guides.

The house is well maintained. Younger guy with red beard did a great job. Tour lasted about 90 mins. It was nice to tour. We have done a lot of Lincoln locations on our travels throughout other states. Worth a stop if you are going to be in the area. Easy parking behind the house.
