Once at the top, our local guides from Valley Isle Excursions will set you up for the best experience—pointing out incredible viewing locations, sharing tips for seeing the sunrise, and telling stories about the history of the island.

After sunrise, we’ll take a short tour of the remainder of Haleakala National Park and the nearby ranch lands.

Enjoy an Exclusive sit down breakfast located on the grounds of the Maui Tropical Plantation with 3 Options to choose from.

We did the Haleakala Sunrise Tour, and once again Valley Isle Excursions nailed it. This tour was unforgettable and absolutely worth the extra early wake up. Watching the sun rise above the clouds from the summit of Haleakala is one of the most breathtaking experiences we’ve ever had. The colors and the panoramic views made it feel almost otherworldly. Our guides, Abe and Brad, were excellent and truly elevated the entire morning. They shared insightful commentary, Hawaiian stories, and fascinating facts about the volcano and surrounding landscapes. They made sure everyone stayed warm, comfortable, and fully prepared for what to expect at the summit. They also got us up to the viewing area before anyone else, so we had the best spots possible. We did wait about an hour for the sunrise, but it was completely worth it. Being right up front made the experience even more magical. The transportation was smooth, the timing was perfectly planned, and breakfast afterward was a great way to wrap up the morning.

We had a great experience. Yes, it’s early. Yes, it’s cold. The drive on the winding roads can be nerve-wracking. But this tour and seeing the sunrise is worth it. Other people at the sunrise saw our group and were jealous of the warm ponchos that we were provided and that we got there early enough to get the best viewing spot. Great that they picked up and dropped off at the cruise terminal.

The BEST experience on Maui! It is worth the EARLY wake up call! Very cold up there, don’t be fooled by being in Hawaii - dress in pants and sweater. They do offer large wool jackets which I don’t think I would have made it without it!
