This tour was a highlight of my trip. The tour guides were informative, knowledgable, and professional. I also appreciated the communication ahead of the tour - not too many emails and the phone call ahead of the pick up to let me know they were almost to my pick up location. This was really the best way to see the sunrise at Haleakala since they manage the driving (with their expert driving, I did not get car sick!) and get the small tour group to the viewing area ahead of most other groups for a prime spot! I didn't find it too terribly crowded either - definitely a lot of people but not overwhelming so great management on the tour group and NPS' part. Oh, and they provide large fleece-lined parka/ponchos (but definitely wear layers - you'll want gloves, hat, jacket - to protect you from the wind!). Very grateful for the amount of time we had pre- and post- sunrise, as well as the bathroom stops and the stop on the way to breakfast for a different vantage point of the park. The breakfast was fabulous too!! I'd highly recommend this tour for solo travelers and anyone on a budget - it's worth it!

Trip was during Kona storm. Felt for safety concerns should have been canceled due to rain and wind. No complaints with driver. He was very professional and informative

We mostly loved this tour. Seeing the sunrise over the crater was a once in a lifetime experience. Unforgettable! The bus picked us up on time at the hotel although there was a bit of miscommunication regarding where to meet at the hotel. The tour guides were so friendly and super knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the volcano and we appreciated the warm ponchos that were provided! I was also pleased that ginger chews were handed out for motion sickness since the drive up the volcano had switchbacks. The chew worked! We stopped for breakfast and although the place was beautiful, the food wasn't good and the service was terrible-No greeting, smiles, or a thank you and have a nice day - she just delivered the food. On the ride home home, we didn't have a bathroom stop which was extremely problematic. So, we ended up getting off the tour bus at someone else's resort so I could go and then had to uber to our resort which cost extra. I was not happy about having to pay more since this is already a costly tour. Overall, I would recommend the tour, but hopefully they can make adjustments with the breakfast and stopping for a bathroom break 30 min after eating.

It was an early morning wake up and pick up! Wife and I rolled out of bed and was met by friendly energetic staff! You are well prepared for the elements by the parka provided for us by the tour guides. It was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Just do it!

Brad was a wonderful driver, his years of experience and history made the whole adventure a truly unforgettable experience. It was cold and blustery at the summit, the tour supplied ponchos which helped with the wind and cold. The breakfast can not be over looked, the food was very good and you will not leave hungry. Great tour experience for sure

Fantastic trip! Jeff and Everett were friendly, and knowledgeable. The ponchos were awesome keeping us warm. We had dresses for the cold, but they were still helpful. The ginger chews were a nice touch. Breakfast was very good and fast. Highly recommend this tour! Worth getting up for!

Windy road may get motion sick . But they provide ginger chews. Use them. The fleece lined ponchos were appreciated. Believe it when you’re told it’s cold at 6am. Enjoyed Everett & Jeff. Both very knowledgeable about the crater & Hawaii.

We arrived on Maui during torrential rain and Govenor declared and emergency. Unfortunately, our reservations were the next day and it was rainy and windy. We didn't see sunrise, but was still a great trip due to Everett and his great stories and info. We saw NeNe (state bird/goose) and some pretty scenery when we came down off the mountain. Plenty of potty stops. They provided fleece ponchos and ginger candy (for the twists and turns of the road) and water. They also had an AED & oxygen which is a comfort as we were way off the grid alot of the time. Breakfast at Cafe O'lei Plantation was great - Mac nut pancakes. Just be forewarned that they pick you up at about 2 a.m. and breakfast isn't until about 9 a.m. You might want to bring a little snack. While you are at Cafe O'lei Plantation, check out the fresh produce in the store in front of the restaurant. They had the best papaya I found on the entire island!
