What To Expect

Snorkel at two exceptional locations aboard the largest Maxi Power Catamaran on Maui operating at just 60% of our Coast Guard capacity. Pride of Maui is the most stable, spacious tour boat, offering far more space per passenger, and unsurpassed guest service. Molokini Crater offers unparalleled visibility, and is a unique opportunity to visit 1 of only 3 sunken volcanic calderas in the entire world. Turtle Town is a unique series of underwater lava formations where Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles gather, and an opportunity to view these graceful animals in their natural environment. Both sites offer a wide variety of colorful tropical fish and other unique marine animals. SNUBA is also available onboard for *an additional charge*. Swim up close with beautiful marine life in a safe, controlled environment 15 feet beneath the surface, under the care of our expert Maui SNUBA instructors. With over 40 years of experience, we understand the needs of our guests and strive to exceed your expectations. We provide breakfast, lunch cooked onboard, and an open bar after snorkeling, featuring ice cold micro brewed beer, wines from Napa, and mai-tais. Kids of all ages, love our super water slide!

So professional and organized! We had no trouble finding the dock, check in was smooth, food and drinks provided, and the crew was so kind. Great views, great service, and an overall great experience!

Excellent snorkeling locations. The whole crew was knowledgeable, helpful, and went out of their way to make our experience memorable.

The crew and the experience were top notch. The crew knew their stuff, they were warm and friendly and knowledgeable. We did the Snuba “add on” which was super fun to try though not much to see frankly (look later in this review). The food was really good. The lunch is not like a packed lunch you can get on some of these. They grilled the burgers fresh. The equipment rental if you wanted it like a wet suit shirt was $10 and very fairly priced. The boat is comfortable and fun. There are some things to consider; firstly Molokini itself has been decimated as has many places like the Great Barrier Reef and the fish population is very low compared to ten years ago. The coral is mostly dead and the color is gone. As such the experience if you have been here before years ago like us, you are going to be saddened and disappointed. However if you have never been it may still be quite a wonderful adventure. And of course this has zero to do with The Pride of Maui. I have read that Pride has been historically jam packed and the experience poor. That has been fixed by them limiting capacity from what I read and on our tour there were probably 30 people which made it exceptional. I can see if there were twice that or more it wouldn’t be as much fun. So I would suggest checking with them ahead of time for expected crowds.

Crew was very accommodating and friendly. The weather started picking up and we had to divert to a different site for our second dive. Everyone still had a great time

Really cool experience. Not many fish at the crater anymore and didn’t see many turtles. We saw more turtles on our shores at the resort. Our party of 6 did not get to snubs as it is not offered on each trip. This would have been nice to know ahead of time or schedule with our booking!
