Immerse yourself in culture at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. In this Maya Cooking Experience, you will learn how to prepare a succulent fish cuisine, in the same manner, the ancient Maya cooked fish thousands of years ago. The fish is cooked on a fire heart and is marinated with local and organic Belizean spices. The cooking session takes place in a newly renovated Maya house, built next to a preserved ‘Chultun’ (a natural refrigerator used by the ancient Maya to preserve food and meats for days), and can be eaten under the Maya House or at the on-site Running W Restaurant.
