For Lunch you can expect set menu (Elephant Ear fish, Vietnamese pancake (known as Bánh Xèo), Mekong Lobsters, Mekong sour soup and Braised pork in coconut juice with quail eggs served with rice)
What To Expect
Saigon Opera House (Ho Chi Minh Municipal Theater)
We will meet our guide there and escape the city for a tour of the Mekong Delta, where you'll see what life is like beyond the urban centre of the south.
My Tho
Upon arrival into My Tho, we board our private boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. Then board a private boat and begin your cruise along the mighty Mekong River. Stop-off at a fish farm to gain an insight into one of the biggest industries of the region. Your expert local guide will take you to a nearby island, where you can stroll through the gardens and sample tropical fruits. Continuing to another island in the Mekong Delta, learn more about another cottage industry–coconut candy. Visit a factory and learn how this sweet is made.

5.00A great experience with Mia. She was a wonderful guide showing us many interesting things on the islands including Durian sweets and snakes in jars! A good lunch, a ride in a tuk tuk, a row down the river - very pretty gardens and every type of fruit. Thank you.

5.00This was a full day private guided tour with Thao. She was knowledgeable and engaging throughout the tour, explaining highlights along the 2.5 hour journey from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong and helping us appreciate fully the programmed activities. First we enjoyed a private boat cruise on the Mekong, visiting a bee farm and watching bees work their magic and then enjoying a cup of honey tea. We then boarded our boat to a coconut processing facility including watching the production of coconut candy and sampling this delight. Next we boated to a chocolate bean production farm and sampled the locally produced chocolate. It was yummy so we ended up buying some to take home. We boated then to a fruit farm sampling a variety of locally grown fruits together with a refreshing pot of jasmine tea. Transport by motorised cart (which our guide described as our Lamborghini) to our lunch destination was next. The lunch was delicious and it was great to have it partially prepared in front of us to witness the culinary skill of our host. We then enjoyed a Sampan ride back to our motorised boat for return. It was a terrific day packed with enjoyable activities and learning experiences. We can’t thank our expert guide Thao, fantastic driver and gracious hosts enough. Ken and Janice.
