My friend and I had a great day with Nina as our tour guide. Luckily, it was just the two of us, so we enjoyed a private tour experience. Nina mentioned this time of the year can be a bit quieter as it's just after Lunar New Year - which made the experience even more enjoyable. We started the day at 8am meeting near the Opera House, and were escorted by a private van to the islands (about a 1.5 hr journey). From there, we rode a small boat to various islands where we saw how locals live, visited a honey farm and learned how coconut candy is made. A tuk-tuk then took us inland to a house where lunch was provided (included in the price). After lunch, a riverboat took us down the canal back to our original boat, and we headed home. We left around 1:30pm and returned at around 3pm. It was a great day, easy and relaxing. If you're looking to explore something different from the markets and the city, this is a fantastic option. Nina provided us with some helpful ptions of what to do on our day off. The tour cost about $90 AUD pp. Some tips were expected along the way, which came to around $20 in total.

We jad a fantastic experience of the Mekong Delta with a warm and knowledgable host Nina. We travelled pm a wooden ferry boat to several islands including exotic local fruits, flowers, fish, and lunch with a spring roll demonstrative. After a lunch we jumped on a small wooden paddle boat which took us to the ferry boat and across the Mekong back. We avoided the usual tourist congestion and felt special. Nena made us feel very relaxed.

After the intensity the Cu Chi tunnels yesterday , today could not have been more different. Nina (perfect guide )was an absolute star – warm, cheerful and full of fascinating information. She made the whole journey along the Mekong feel effortless. We cruised the river, stopping across four islands, visited a beehive for honey tea, watched coconut candy being made, bumped along the village by tuk-tuk, and tasted beautiful fresh fruits along the way. Finished with delicious Mekong Delta food and very happy memories of a wonderful day.
