What To Expect
Vinh Trang Temple
Departing at 8:00 AM, from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel, heading to the Mekong Delta by minivan or bus. During the 1.5 hour drive, pass by green rice fields before arriving at the beautiful rural My Tho. Along the way, we will visit Vinh Trang pagoda, the biggest pagoda in the Mekong delta. My Tho
at the beautiful rural My Tho. Your morning trip continues from here by motorized boat on the Tien River to the Qui (Tortoise islet). On the way, see the fishing port, boat-building workshops, and the Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn Islet. Walk into the village, where you can visit a local fruit garden and enjoy the tropical fruit while listening to Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by islanders. Here you also can join the daily activities of the local people and take in the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside. Visit the bee house, and take the picture of the pythons. Lunch will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden. The boat cruise will lead you through Bao Dinh canal, entering Ben Tre province.

5.00We booked this on a different site - our tour with Bunny was great! We learned a lot about Vietnam, the Mekong Delta and got to chat with Bunny a bunch about general life in Vietnam as well. The short Sampan ride, picking and tasting coconuts and fruit, and the visit to the Pagoda were all good experiences.

5.00Excellent day out with fantastic guide, Betty. Betty was very knowledgeable and clear to understand. All aspects of the day were as expected. Only slight disappointment was the quality of the vehicle which was a minibus with little legroom, as opposed to the limousine as advertised. The day was very well planned and ran very smoothly. Thanks

5.00We did this tour with Tam as our guide and it was a well-paced, enjoyable experience. Tam was attentive, informative, and made the tour fun for everyone in our group, including two teenagers. Overall, the tour was an enjoyable way to explore the area and deepen our understanding of the Vietnamese culture. I would recommend that if you do intend to provide donations at different points along the way that you have smaller amounts of currency available. Highly recommend this experience, especially for a family with Tam as your guide.

From the moment we were picked up, the entire day felt perfectly organized and incredibly immersive. We were amazed by how many authentic activities were packed into a single day without ever feeling rushed. From exploring the local villages to seeing the heart of the delta's industry, every stop felt like a genuine window into the local way of life. The absolute highlight of our trip was our guide, Bin, whose helpfulness and expertise truly made this a VIP experience. Bin went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, well-informed, and having the best time possible. He was always ready to lend a hand, share a fascinating story about the region, or help us capture the perfect photo. His genuine care for our experience and his deep knowledge of the area transformed the day from a simple sightseeing trip into a personal and memorable journey. One of our favorite moments was visiting the coconut farm, where we had the unique opportunity to pick a coconut straight from the tree. It was incredibly fresh and the water was so sweet, making it the perfect refreshment. We also loved watching the traditional process of making coconut candies and tasting them while they were still warm. The Mekong River boat ride was equally spectacular, offering peaceful views of the river life and lush scenery. Gliding through the smaller canals on a rowing sampan was a magical experience that felt like stepping back in time. We can’t recommend Indochina Heritage Travel enough, and if you go, definitely ask for Bin to be your guide!

4.00The visit to the Mekong Delta was nice. We visited several local communities and a Buddhist temple. However, it was a 4-hour round trip drive from Ho Chi Minh. This is a whole day tour and we exhausted at the end. Something to keep in mind if you have short time in the city.

5.00We had a lovely day out exploring the Mekong Delta. Our guide was called Tam and she was so lovely , helpful , kind and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a long way from the city and the traffic is crazy but you can choose to chat with Tam or just have a sleep.

5.00Highly recommended. Our guide Matthew organised the day so we avoided large crowds and we went from one highlight to another. Food provided was delicious and plentiful and we experienced a variety of transport options during the day. Matthew was professional and great fun and ensured we had the best day possible!
