What To Expect
Vinh Trang Temple
Around 7:45am. Get picked up from your hotel in center of Ho Chi Minh City and head to the Mekong Delta. During the 1.5 car ride, we will pass through by green rice fields before arriving at the beautiful rural My Tho. The first stop is Vinh Trang pagoda. It is the biggest pagoda in the Mekong Delta region. You will be guided to explore the most beautiful, ancient and significant temple in the Mekong Delta. This religious landmark dates back to the 19th century and features a harmonious fusion of Vietnamese, Khmer, and Chinese architectural styles.
My Tho
Head to the nearby pier, where you'll board a traditional Mekong Delta boat for a scenic cruise on the Mekong River. You will pass by the Turtle, Dragon, Phoenix Islets and arrive at the Unicorn Islet. As you embark on this journey, you'll be captivated by the lush greenery and bustling river life. Continue your exploration by riding a traditional sampan boat through the narrow waterways with coconut palms lining both sides. This up-close experience allows you to appreciate the unique ecosystem and local way of life. Stop at a bee farm, savor honey tea, taste local fruits and enjoy traditional music performed by the villagers and learn about the daily life of the locals. Enjoy a local lunch with Vietnamese dishes (vegan food available)

5.00Great trip to Mekong Delta. Our guide, Bao, was a fantactic host. We visited the pagoda enroute then tasted local honey before having a feast for lunch. We were able to add on crocodile, which was a first for me and it was delicious°

5.00The experience with Bao was great, we had the opportunity to see the local villages and some local activity such as the production of coconut candy and happy wine. The Pagoda is wonderful and it was a really great visit. I liked that Bao explained everything during the tour, giving us some background about everything.

4.00We booked this tour at the last minute as the weather was a little uncertain. As on previous tours, we were contacted by WhatsApp messages and the pickup was very punctual. Our guide, Daisy, did a great job on the drive to the delta (about 2 hours drive). And we were lucky there was no rain the whole day. Once we arrived at the Delta, we boarded a small boat which took us on one of the islands. Then for the rest of the day, we visited different places and could witness customs of the area. We also had lunch at one of the places which was very good. At one of the stops you had a the option for a short bike ride. We also took a small bamboo boat and passed through a narrow canals. Very nice and memorable. The only problem for me (79 years old) was that the seats were very low and I almost had cramps in my legs. Once we were back on shore we took a short drive to an old temple with a very large Buddha. Never seen a large Buddha like that. Very impressive We were back in the city around 6pm. All in all a very memorable tour which I would recommend and Daisy has done a good job during the whole day.
