What To Expect
Vinh Trang Temple
Around 7:45am. Get picked up from your hotel in center of Ho Chi Minh City and head to the Mekong Delta. During the 1.5 car ride, we will pass through by green rice fields before arriving at the beautiful rural My Tho. The first stop is Vinh Trang pagoda. It is the biggest pagoda in the Mekong Delta region. You will be guided to explore the most beautiful, ancient and significant temple in the Mekong Delta. This religious landmark dates back to the 19th century and features a harmonious fusion of Vietnamese, Khmer, and Chinese architectural styles.
My Tho
Head to the nearby pier, where you'll board a traditional Mekong Delta boat for a scenic cruise on the Mekong River. You will pass by the Turtle, Dragon, Phoenix Islets and arrive at the Unicorn Islet. As you embark on this journey, you'll be captivated by the lush greenery and bustling river life. Continue your exploration by riding a traditional sampan boat through the narrow waterways with coconut palms lining both sides. This up-close experience allows you to appreciate the unique ecosystem and local way of life. Stop at a bee farm, savor honey tea, taste local fruits and enjoy traditional music performed by the villagers and learn about the daily life of the locals. Enjoy a local lunch with Vietnamese dishes (vegan food available)

Very poor tour guide and below average itinerary

2.00This was a really below average tour. The places you see alone are not really that bad although it feels very touristy. The whole experience unlike with many other tours I’ve had was not that great. It felt like they were just taking us places where locals could sell us things. But the main problem was with out tour guide. He did not explain anything. He was really lazy, was never part of the group, couldn’t bother explaining anything so we had no clue what we were looking at, where we were going and what has been going on. I think this tour is maybe best for those who are not very ‘adventurous’ and families with small kids because it’s easy. But also with a better guide. I guess we just weren’t that lucky.

5.00Excellent tour of the temple and Mekong delta with knowledgeable guide Ele. So much packed into the day there were so many highlights - Buddhist temple, snake wine, coconut cutting, paddle on the canal all followed by an amazing local village meal.

5.00This tour was a great chance to get out of the main city and see the countryside and some of the people living on the islands. Our guide, Duc was very friendly and accommodating. We got to see some great views of the jungle, of the islands, and of the Delta. We started early in the morning. There was no issues with insects. At times it got a little warm, but not too bad as there was a breeze most of the time.
