• Beware…they don’t pick up at all city centre hotels

  Although you may receive a confirmation stating they will collect you from your hotel, BEWARE - many city centre hotels are not in district 1 and you will be asked to take a taxi or find your own way to a pick up point. Our hotel was 4 minutes walk from the post office and catherdral, but they refused to collect or return us as the hotel was technically in district 3. Our confirmation email said an 0800 collection from the hotel, but the night before we were told to leave the hotel by 0630 and make our own way to their pick up point. For drop off, we were similarly told it was too far and we should take a taxi. This applies to all district 3 hotels - Sofitel, Marriott, MGallery etc. The tour was the standard tour to My Pho which many operators offer. It is worth doing, but other operators may be able to offer pick up to all central hotels.

  We were pretty disappointed with the entire experience. The guide barely spoke English but it also felt that he was not trying at all. The entire commentary was: well get to this stop.. take a picture; you’ll get to the next stop.. take a picture. No information, nothing!! The boat part was very commercialized. And most importantly, he skipped a relatively large part of the tour, coconut farm. We were back at hour hotel an hour early despite waiting for the boat much longer than expected due to the crowds. Overall, I feel 2 stars is very generous. We had plenty of tour in Vietnam prior and this one is the worst by far.

  Interesting to see how the families and villagers stay and work together. Lovely snacks and local food.

  We had fun on the boats and tuktuk but our stomachs struggled with the food, especially at lunch where my husband got food poisoning the next day. Please make sure the meat and fish is cooked fresh as we didn't know how long the food had been sitting there before we arrived at lunch.

  Vietnam Adventure Tours were great. Good clean bus with very safe driver and USB ports. Top guide Mooyen(Jack) entertaining and knowledgable. On time and got what was promised. Communication was easy. Highly recommend Jack and team Vietnam Adventures. Great lunch too.
