Even though I'm personally not a great fan of seeing animals caged, Melbourne Zoo is a wonderful experience for all ages. All of the guides were very knowledgeable about the animals in their sector, and were happy to answer any questions posed. Only real advice would be to wear comfortable shoes, as there is a lot of walking to be done

Really easy to follow we went on a Tuesday first thing so wasn’t super busy and parking through the app on the signs was really cheap

Clean, beautifully laid out park. Easy to get to using public transport or taxi / ride sharing. Wish we had come sooner.

What a wonderful day was had by all in our group! Kids entry is free on weekends and we felt so fortunate for this amazing gesture! The gardens alone are stunning, but the animals all seem to be very well cared for and the environment is very special. We enjoyed several talks on the animals. It was a freezing cold day so many primates were hiding (I didn’t blame them!), but there was still so much to do. Many eateries to choose from and all very well priced. Even the gift shop had reasonably priced merchandise! Highly recommend!!

Wonderful family friendly day out visiting all the animals. Loved the park, the friendly staff and the informative talks. A few enclosures were closed for renovations, but you have to expect the ongoing upkeep at a place like this. Fantastic day out all around!

We were a little bit bummed about the closure of certain areas of the zoo (like the penguins and aqua-animals sections), however we were lucky enough to have Zookeepers/ staffs who were very helpful and friendly to guide us. Annie, specifically, went out of her way to show us Kangaroos and Koalas (the Australian Bush area) for just the both of us and showered us with kindness, patience and knowledge about the animals and the backstories of them which we greatly appreciate.

Established zoo with many animals, I like the roundabout layout was easy to navigate and kids loved the printed maps as we went. Kids were free on the weekend and parking $2 that was a nice surprise. We didn’t stop for any talks as we had to drive that afternoon and were still there for almost 5 hours. Butterfly exhibit was lovely and calm too nice feature. Got to see the lions close past the close that was pretty incredible. I appreciate the snake enclosure wasn’t too dark. Coffee was great too always important. Food items were as expected no complaints. It did not disappoint. Pack a jacket it’s was colder I went back to the car to get my warmer coat.

An amazing day with so many animals to see, many of which can only be witnessed in Australia! The animals all seemed to be happy in their surroundings and well cared for. A great day out for kids, there were hundreds there!
