5.00We absolutely loved the time spent there and the helpful staff. we did the reptile experience and the orangutan experience. The people at the reprile trip gave us so much time and went out of their way to engage and inform us of sooo much it was fantastic, the teens were seriusly fascinated by it too. The orangutan trip wasnt worth the money, could hardly see a thing. And the food was gross, old soggy burger really expensive.

1.00Underwhelmed and overpriced for a disappointing experience. We went yesterday after I had been 20 years ago and had then an excellent visit Yesterday however was a non-event as most animals were not visible either sleeping or not there at all. A total rip off. I would not recommend wasting your time or money going.

1.00We visited on a day of 40.c. It was like visiting a museum with no exhibits. We were ripped off. The zoo should be shut to visitors. This was a scam. Shame on you. The next page asks for photos. How can we photo nothing!

5.00Melbourne Zoo was OVER my expectations, my experience was really deep, the zoo structure was laid out really well split into organized sections, The zoo is maintained really well including spacious creative enclosers designed for animal welfare that provides perfect habitat for the animals as well as nice visibility for visitors with shades, greenery creating a calm nature habitat, staff were really cheerful and had put on the cheesiest smiles. I'm not sure about the admission fees but it must have grown due to inflation, Melbourne Zoo was located on the outer edges of Melbourne City near the city parks and the more peaceful neighbouring housing. The zoo is filled with visitors during the afternoon and parking is risky, I would recommend getting there earlier where there'll be more car parking space and the zoo would be less crowded. The zoo is maintained really well including spacious creative enclosers designed for animal welfare that provides perfect habitat for the animals as well as nice visibility for visitors with shades, greenery creating a calm nature habitat. Melbourne Zoo took us a whole day to visit usually and gets really sweaty during the hotter seasons since the zoo center is out in the open where the food stations, restrooms and resting area is located where most people would hang around. Overall, I had a really nice experience getting to see Aussie animals as well as animals from other areas, I would highly recommend visiting here when going to the outskirts of the city.

3.00Feedback for 26/11/25, 10.15am entry just after a big diwn pour. We had a group of 9 people with disabilities. Entering via the Royal park gate house , the lady at payment counter gave us such a tough time about using companion cards and pension cards reminding us many times the zoo is a NFP, was an exhausting experience then she still tried to overcharge us. Was like she was the owner of the zoo and just wanted top dollar . Finally in , yes had rained heavily for 45 mins prior but no sign of any lions, wild dogs, tiger, or any animal in that section. Luckily reptiles and giant tortoise are a sure thing . Coffee at the giraffe cafe was made by someone that clearly wasn’t interested (usually coffees are great but I get them from the lake house restaurant ), hot chocolate tasted like half serve of chocolate powder. Lunch good for most however only gluten free option is sushi . What makes people feel good, butterflies. After walking there along a lonely path again with no animals in site butterfly house closed !! Why ? Looked like a staff meeting . This really cheesed people off as it costs a lot to get into the zoo and surely a staff meeting can happen in another part of the zoo or if must be in butterfly house outside of trading hours perhaps . Fortunately lemurs and gorillas section still had animals to look at to save the day . Zoo just seems like a mess woth many roads to no where and animals missing in action . Hopefully next time it will be factory rest and a fab day as it be is use to and expects , maybe all goes mental on a wet day ??

4.00The zoo was well laid out so you didn't have to double back on yourself to see each exhibit. I also thought it was very accessible with good paved paths and lots of benches to sit for a rest if needed. It was expensive for a single adult ticket (nearly $60) but it may be cheaper if you're going as a family.

3.00Decidedly average. Confusing layout when you enter from the Railway end as all the maps (printed and on sign boards) are as though you've entered from the Main entrance, so are back to front. Animals seem to be hidden in the enclosures or aren't there at all. What animals were there were well looked after. Price is probably on a par with most others worldwide.

5.00Even though I'm personally not a great fan of seeing animals caged, Melbourne Zoo is a wonderful experience for all ages. All of the guides were very knowledgeable about the animals in their sector, and were happy to answer any questions posed. Only real advice would be to wear comfortable shoes, as there is a lot of walking to be done
