Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Hannah and Joe were absolutely incredible tour guides for the Mendenhall canoe and glacier hike! From start to finish, they were knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the beauty of the area with our group. They made everyone feel comfortable and safe while keeping the experience fun and engaging. Their knowledge of the glacier, local wildlife, and the surrounding environment added so much to the adventure. They were always happy to answer questions, share interesting facts, and make sure everyone was having a great time. The canoe trip was breathtaking, and the glacier hike was an unforgettable experience. Hannah and Joe’s energy, encouragement, and expertise turned an amazing excursion into a truly exceptional one. If you’re considering this tour, I highly recommend it—and if you get Hannah and Joe as your guides, you’re in for an outstanding experience! Thank you both for helping create memories that will last a lifetime!

Our canoe trip on Mendenhall Glacier Lake was phenomenal! I was there with my 17 year old son, and we both had a great time. Our guide, Sophie, was knowledgeable, fun, and knew what she was doing when it came to the canoe and the equipment. Along the way, she gave us tons of great information about the glacier, it's history, and the wildlife in the area. Her jokes and stories were fun and engaging. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to have a hands-on experience on the lake, get some exercise, and see the glacier and the waterfall up close.

Canoe trip was as advertised. It challenged all 6 of us physically and the views were amazing. Our guide, Brady, did a fantastic job keeping us safe and informed about the history.

This was an excellent canoe experience with Brady. He was very knowledgeable, but also a fun guide. The only thought all six of us had to improve the experience was for the company to plan the trip so that each person could paddle on both sides of the canoe instead of the same side out and back. There should be a place to get out of the canoe for a few minutes to walk around and then reposition on the other side of the canoe for paddling back.
