Most importantly , I have to say our tour guide, Tor, was Outstanding! She was fun, knowledgeable and my wife and I always felt safe. Our van ride to / from Juneau - Mendenhal Lake was very comfortable. The gear Liquid Alaska Tours gave us to stay dry was exceptional. My only disappointment was we did not see a lot of wildlife, but that’s just nature.

This was just an OK excursion for us. . Some issues we had… When loading the canoe, the guide put my husband in the front in a single seat as the lead canoer and then started to sit other couples behind him in pairs and I had to ask was where was I going to sit bc I didn’t want to be in the back of the canoe several rows behind my husband so he moved everybody around so I could sit behind him, but it was a little frustrating to have to ask him to do this. The canoe had quite a bit oh water in it since it had been raining and he tried to scoop out some water , but we were still sitting in quite a bit of water, and the water had snack wrappers and food floating in it from precious canoers having snacks which was kind of gross. There was an another canoe available that looked much cleaner and drier , so I’m not sure why he took that one. It’s also physically demanding esp bc you only paddle on one side, so one arm does get a lot tireder , but he did give several rest breaks. The other thing I didn’t really appreciate was our guide tried to be funny, but he would lie about things and then tell us later he was just joking. He made up a whole story about Matthew McConaughey owning a house on the lake and contributing to the porcupine cause and then a little while later told us that was all fake so it was hard to know when he was telling the truth, and when he was joking. I think he thought he was being funny, but it was somewhat annoying. The glacier view was nice, although not as inspiring as I had hoped. I just thought it was a rather expensive excursion at $50 a person for what it was.

This canoe adventure was amazing! Sophie, our guide, was incredible and made us laugh. She was so kind and knew so much about Alaska and wildlife. Seeing the glacier up close was an experience I will never forget! Thank you to Liquid Alaska and our guide! You made our trip truly memorable❤️❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Mendenhall canoe tour was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of our Alaska trip! The views were unreal. Our guide Brady from Wisconsin made the whole experience even better. He was hilarious, super knowledgeable, and somehow managed to keep everyone entertained while teaching us about the glacier, wildlife, and the area’s history. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does. His jokes alone were worth the trip. The canoe ride itself was peaceful, a bit of a workout though, and but seeing the glacier up close was unforgettable. If you’re visiting Juneau, do not skip this tour. Ask for Brady if you can — unless you’re sensitive to dad jokes from Wisconsin. 🙂

Brady was our guide and he was absolutely wonderful. Tour was very interactive and will require a decent level of activity but was very well worth it for the views and how close you get to the glaciers. Length of visit was exactly as advertised. What stood out about this over other tours is how close you get to the glaciers..I noticed reviews from other tours, people would complain about how far they were from the glaciers and we also encountered other groups that stopped halfway but we kept going. Was a very surreal experience being so close. 10/10 would definitely recommend

We had an incredible 5-star experience! Our guides, Elymus and Tor, were truly inspiring, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. They shared so much fascinating information about the glacier, lake, local nature, and the town. You don’t need to worry about anything - you will be well-equipped with waterproof clothing. We joined a small group of wonderful, kind people, and everyone really came together to make the day special. And of course, the view is absolutely breathtaking! Highly recommended!

Tor did a great job of keeping the six of us paddling in sync to Mendenhall Glacier. She was positive and humorous. I highly recommend this tour.

The tour was punctual; our guide Tor picked us up at the agreed location without any problems, as it was well marked. The guide drove cautiously to the lake, respecting traffic laws. She was super kind and responsible. She explained the rules before starting and provided a tutorial. I really loved the experience. 100% recommended.
