• Horrendous trip definitely do not recommend in Miami

  On Friday 20th February our last day of our holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary we decided to take the Big Bus tour around Miami a 2.5 hour tour and we could hop on and hop off and have a lovely day out …….. we were sold this at our hotel by a company called Fantastic Tours. Which I can tell you are not fantastic in any way. . We started at bayside at 3pm and sat on the bus for 5 hours with no stops !!!!!!!!!! the poor driver trying to manoeuvre all the traffic we were told it could be busy by the beach but oh my goodness it was absolutely horrendous in every way. What was meant to be a highlight of Miami looking around we only saw it from the bus. We are very very disappointed as this was not a cheap trip at all. In the end I called Fantastic Tours and asked them to come and take us back to the hotel at 7pm we had only just got to the design district and saw none of it. One lady with 4 children wanted to take them to the beach but was not able to do that because of the sheer traffic chaos which resulted in them having to stay on the bus. We were advised by our hotel to get our money back but this has not materialised. All in all a terrible trip definitely would not recommend. Absolutely no communication at all.

  Miami isn’t really walkable so the Hop on Hop Off bus was a great was to see a lot of areas we wouldn’t have. It has an audio part to the tour. That was nice to listen to and hear some of the history. It ended a little early at 4 pm. So, I suggest getting started early.

  Easy way to get around. We just used it to hear about the area and only got off at Little Havana. If staying in the area, I would have gotten it for the 48 hours. Our driver was a bit slow going once lights turned green. We are not sure if it was the vehicle or the driver.

  Easy to identify stops and bus. Easy on, easy off. Plenty of time to do. Always room, loved being on top. Use sunscreen. Be ready to remove head gear.

  It is a very good way to get around the city for first timers like us. We left from Bayside 15 minutes late because the bus had run out of ear phones. Our plan was to stop at south beach, wynward, and Little Havana. We left south beach around 2. The traffic from south beach to wynward was very heavy and slow. So much so that we didn’t get off at Wynward. We arrived at Little Havana at 430, resulting in a shortened visit there. In hindsight, we should have started earlier

• Misleading and Deceptive Listing – Would Give Zero Stars If Possible

  Please be aware of this scam. The tour I purchased was clearly titled: “Miami: Hop-on Hop-off Tour + Cruise & Free 1-Hour Bike Rental.” Based on that description, it is completely reasonable to expect that both the cruise and the bike rental are included in the price. However, after arriving at the port, I was informed that the cruise was not included. The bike rental was also not included, despite the title explicitly stating otherwise. This is extremely misleading and deceptive. The wording of the listing is clearly designed to make customers believe they are purchasing a package that includes these features, when in reality they are not provided. I would give this company zero stars if that were an option. I strongly advise others to be cautious before booking.

  The bus takes you to all the stops but it does not go through Ocean drive in Southbeach. The buses here in Miami don’t run on the half hour, they either are late or early and I noticed several ppl missed it so it was a bit chaotic regarding scheduling. Once you hop off the bus, it’s hard to get a sit at the top. We got stuck on the lower level and it was very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. We were on a tight schedule and ended up getting an uber to our next destination because the bus schedule is chaotic. Not on the half hour like they tell you. Overall, if you want to sit for the whole tour at once, it might work for you. I don’t recommend getting off the bus if you’re on a tight schedule. Get there early so you can grab good seats.

  Caught the bus at stop 2 (5th & Washington) on BBC South Beach at 9.45am. We were first to arrive at the stop, amongst the last to get on (20 in front of us?). What is it about an inability to stand in line and wait your turn to board a bus? Thankfully we got on. The Real Time facility in the App gives a range of times for the due time of a bus at a specific stop. In reality, it a best estimate of time and is NOT real time information. The bus frequency is advertised as every 30 minutes. it is not. Little Havana, today, was 40+ minutes. We caught the last bus (scheduled for 4pm) from Bayfront (stop 1) to stop 2. Arrived at 3.20pm, bus arrived at 4.10pm. Again, the large crowd gathered found boarding the bus as a free for all. Paying handsomely for these tours means you expect a good (or should that be excellent) service. Not in Miami and not today. I’ve used Big Bus in other cities, particularly in Europe, and found them very reliable. A disappointing end to a very good vacation.

  Me and my partner booked the hop on hop off bus whilst we were visiting Miami. The buses start at 9am and the last one sets off at 5pm buses are every hour half and they was always on time. Nine stops in and around Miami. The ticket is Valid for 24 hours. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
