The Ocoee River formed naturally without any of the undercuts or sieves present in most waterways. For our rafters that means we can push the boundaries of what a non-professional can experience. At OAR we train for longer then any other company. We are also the only company that requires each guide to complete an EMR certification as well as a Swiftwater Rescue class. This enables us to confidently do things on the water other companies can't and take guests that other companies won't.
Wheelchair accessible

Amazing experience, our tour guide Hugh was the best guide we could have ever asked for. I’ve never met anyone as passionate and friendly as him, 10/10 would recommend

We took 17 high school seniors and had the best time. Most has not been ww rafting before and were leary but they all had a great time. If you have people not sure, tell them to go for it. They will be so glad they did. Our guides were Wes, Jonny, Hugh, and Matt. They were great guides who kept us in eyesight of each other scaling the experience to the desires of each boat. The chaperones rode together in one raft and it was the best time with lots of laughter. If anyone else is still on the fence….there was a group of ladies between 60-80 and they rafted together near us and if they can do it, anyone can. The covered pavilion was nice to eat lunch before we headed out as well as the volleyball court for our teens passing the time until guides gathered us up. The gift shop had a good variety of items and the bathrooms and showers were nice. Thank you for a great trip! We’d love to come back again. Definitely made for a memorable senior trip!

What an amazing experience with our guide Devin, also known as Ducky! If you’re ready for exhilarating fun as you ride the nose of the raft as if you were riding a bucking bull while white water rushes all around you, then ask for Ducky!! Riding the Bull as he calls it is truly for those seeking an extra special memory to bring home as you conquer nature like you were JB Mooney. We plan to go back real soon as veteran bull riders. God bless!

I was terrified of rafting, but went for it anyway. I looked on the employee list so that I could list our guide by name, but she is not currently on there. I will say that our guide was AWESOME. She was calm throughout the experience and made me feel safe- as in: if I fell in by accident, I was pretty sure she would rescue me and not let me die. :) She talked our group through each point in the rafting experience and none of us fell out once. She said that she was a rafting leader in the warmer months and a ski instructor in the colder months. I loved her no-nonsense, direct way of speaking (and entertaining). I think her voice may have prevented me from having a heart attack at certain points. I would 100% suggest taking the plunge and trying this experience- and I'm completely basing this on our very awesome guide. Someone needs to call her mom and tell her what an amazing daughter she has (I hope she's proud!).

All 6 of us had a blast! Especially, my wife, she was so afraid and our guide Wesley took care of her. Now she wants to go back again with the older children.

6 of us friends came looking for a fun day on the river while visiting Blue Ridge, Georgia. There were alot of rafting companies closer to our stay, but we are so glad we drove out to OAR. The drive over to Tennesse was gorgeous and our time on the water with Jon Hall as our guide could never be beat by any other rafting experience. The guides at OAR are focused on safety and fun. Jon Hall took our trip to a whole other level. Not sure anyone knows the river better then Jon. He took what could have been a standard rafting experience and made it AMAZING. He keeps it wild, fun and safe. Thanks Jon for an adventure we wont forget. Your the master of your craft and we couldnt appreciate you more.
