Enjoy a 13-hour trip to one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Bernina TRAIN railway, passing before along Lake Como and a beautiful Alpine valley. We stop in a charming lakeshore village and, possibly, later by a winery or old cellar experience or a cafè!
In Tirano you have around one hour for your lunch and then we board the Bernina TRAIN that climbs the Swiss Alps.
We get off at one the highest point to enjoy snowcaps and glaciers view.
(JUST IN CASE OF SEVERE WEATHER CONDITION WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REACH THIS POINT AND SWITCH TO ONLY A PARTIAL RIDE OF THE BERNINA TRAIN)
Afterward we head to St. Moritz where you have about 45 minutes to explore this fashionable resort, one of the most well known in the world.
At the end of it we go back to Lake Como, through another spectacular valley in Switzerland, from where you board either the regular train or the minibus for a ride on your return to Milan.

5.00What a day! Our time on the Bernina Express was awesome, and guide Hilarie was just incredible! We had great communication from LUCA prior to the trip, so we navigated the crazy Milan Central ok. It is very busy, so you must pay attention to all the details LUCA sends. Our guide Hilarie told us when to shift to the other side of the train to see the best views, and she made many good recommendations for our lunch break. ***Know there are many steep steps and walking, so it isn’t a “sit and get” all day tour*** If we could have left St. Moritz off and gone to a more affordable stop after the express, I would recommend that. St. Moritz is too expensive for shopping.

4.00Train trip was less than 2 hours. The rest of the 12 hour trip was by bus. The tour description did not state this and my expectation was that this trip was all by train, especially since the meeting point was at the train station. The tour manager and scenery were fantastic. The bus driver was unprepared for driving the bus for 16 guests. As we approached the van, he did not have the vehicle ready. He didn’t know how to open the door for guests. He didn’t not know how to put on the air conditioning and had to stop a kilometer away to figure it out. Each time we got off and then on the van, he had to be reminded to turn on the a/c. He didn’t know how to turn on the microphone for the tour manager and she had to make a call for help to get it working. The driver stalled the van 3 times and drove extremely slow considering the terrain and traffic. But aside from the driver and high traffic on the roads, the lakes and mountains scenery was spectacular.
